A brilliant murder mystery game
My friends and I had an 'ace-high' evening playing this Wild Wild West Cowboy Murder Mystery. The characters are well thought out and the script is entertaining (with a good dose of sexual innuendo!) and we had a thoroughly fun evening full of laughter. We played with the full remit of 12 characters and in fact managed to work a 13th character in (more people accepted our invitations than expected!). We made up a 13th character who get asked to read out all the 'secret clues', and who was confident enough to ad lib as we went along. The game is certainly long enough to fill an evening, as we started around 7.30 and finished late - the time flew by!I can highly recommend the game. The only advice I would give is 1) Ignore the playing card and stakes - whilst we did lay this out and attempt to use them, it was just too complicated and fell by the wayside 2) Track 1 on the CD is very long, complicated, and repetitive. Just tell your guests to hang on in there and not to worry too much about the detail - it will become apparent later as you start playing. The other CD tracks are much shorter and simpler.Enjoy!

Cowboy Murder Mystery
"Howdee pardners!"We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would highly recommend "A Backful of Bullets".The quality of the invitations made a good first impression and guests found them helpful as they had costume ideas/illustrations. Most guests were able to make an outfit from stuff in their wardrobes so little extra expense was incurred. (I was jealous of the fiend who had thought to accessorise with a water pistol!!)Everyone was encouraged to talk in an american accent - not sure they were strictly authentic but hilarious none the less and added to the fun.It could be helpful to have a suggested menu but we ignored it and went with big steaks on the BBQ as we figured cowboys like meat!! Keep the food simple. We found the dialogue fun and easy to follow. We became utterly confused trying to incorporate the Poker cards but they added an amusing dimension.Unfortunately our CD stuck a couple of times and ended up divulging the murderer's identity before time but we just found it hilarious and bizarrely it did not detract from the evening!Looking forward to our next murder mystery extravaganza.

Fun but a bit complex
Fun story - a few people correctly identified the murderer but the motive eluded us all as was quite complex. We tried to use the cards to keep the story going smoothly but after a few drinks this becomes increasingly tricky! The soundtrack was a bit drawn out and the narrator went on a bit but do listen as it is vital to the play. Characters were fun and it was a great night though

What a great evening!
My annual Xmas Murder mystery evenings with the extended family have become something we all look forward to. Everyone completely gets involved in dressing up according to the character assigned (the invites gives great detail what each character should wear). We always allow ourselves a couple of weeks to hit the charity shops to prepare! This year the Cowboy game was a roaring success, lots of silly accents, props and topped off shocking the family when my husband took the ladies part (complete with saloon girl outfit). This game is one of the best Murder mysteries we have played as it was suitable for ages 10-60 years, comical and the murderer could be worked out if you listen carefully (not like other games I have played which are seemingly impossible (anyone remember Dusty Bin??)). We played out the game through dinner courses so it was easy to follow and allowed everyone to discuss the facts.I would definitely recommend this game, one of the better Murder mystery plots and easy to dress up and take part without massive expense.

Rubbish
Rubbish. Very very slow and difficult to follow. Not one person in the group could make sense of it.

An interesting game
I had high hopes for this game from all the feedback that I read. It was a well thought out story with many interesting side lines and good parts in the script. In the end we had ten people and the game seemed well equiped with well printed invites etc. However, one of the problems I had was that the cd was a bit quiet. It may have been that my Mac computer was just not loud enough and I should have used a proper cd player but the effect was that everyone had to be really still to listen and although all tried - various key messages got missed. It did not help that the talking bit was (in my opinion) unnecessarily long so that we did get a little bored trying to get to the point - it was like trying to listen to an old fashioned wireless show and play the game in the middle. Invariable the key bits got completely missed and confusion reigned! We nearly gave up in the middle but fortunately carried on, encouraged by one of the team who didnt not want to miss his key part!! - even then I had to listen to the cd several days later to work it all out. I wondered if it would have been better with just 6 but the point was to play a game amongst old friends not follow a scipt so completely that we would be 'performing' a whodunnit. I dont think I will buy from this company again.

Excellent fun for all! Who wouldn't love the Wild West?
This murder mystery was stand out for me - I've played a couple of the more traditional murder mysteries in the past, so got very excited when I saw that there was one that allowed everyone to dress as Cowboys (plus it's always a fairly easy outfit to put together!).The plot line was excellent, and the subtle innuendos had us rolling around laughing at points (particularly after a few glasses of wine). I stuck to the recommended menu as it seemed fairly simple, and fit the scene perfectly. All in all a very good price for great fun, and I thought that the invites and everything included looked very high quality.I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone who is interested in throwing a murder mystery! I plan on trying the Pirate one next!
