Holds the most dishes.
I've never found a drying rack that can hold so much stuff. There's just enough space between the bottom shelf and the top that I can slide short things all the way back - Tupperware, short mugs and glasses, etc.I've had one of these racks in white for 10 years or more. After all that time it started looking a little worn/ratty starting to rust in spots, but I had trouble finding another one - or any other design versatile in shape enough that I could hold my biggest pots, or hold the same number of dishes as this one. I held onto it until I finally found one here. This time I'm trying the silver to see if it looks nice even longer. Some dishes will want to fall over if they're near the edge. I put a large plate or cutting board on the end to brace things in the middle. The utensil holder helps. This time I'm getting two - one for each end. They'll help brace things, and I often run out of utensil space with just one.I never had problems with the rack itself collapsing. The "lock" design is fairly simple - the front bar on the base fits into a 'loop' on the bottom shelf. You can see that in the picture. My best guess on collapsing problems is that some of these might ship with a 'loop' that isn't pinched around the bar enough.I saw someone complain they couldn't find a drain tray big enough. I had a hard time, but currently I prefer a Microfiber Dish drying mat underneath. It soaks up the moisture, and is easy to throw in the washing machine when it gets a little yucky. I always hate cleaning drain boards.Microfiber Dish Drying Mat,

It will only hold a dinner plate upright.
I would not purchase this again. It is flimsy and moves around. And the protrusions where you can put glasses and cups bend out of shape. Most importantly it will only hold a dinner plate upright. It's useless for any plate smaller than a dinner plate. Definitely not worth the price.

My favorite dish rack.
This dish rack is an upgrade for me. It is much sturdier than my previous one and looks like stailess steel. The "fingers" on both sides hold lots of cups and glasses. The top is great for plates; bottom for flatware. The picture shows dish mats under and beside, but dish towels work well, also. The space beside is for pots and pans.

Don’t buy , keeps collapsing!!!
Terrible design- this dish rack kept collapsing ! When you open it for use it doesn’t securely lock into itself. I had to tie string to keep it from collapsing!I returned it . Don’t buy!

I really love this rack
I really love this rack. I bought another one since my white one is getting grimy. Got in stainless steel and beautiful.Unfortunately I didn't realize that it had a double sided cup rack and it doesn't fit in my space. But instead of spending the return shippingI will give it as a gift. But, I am going to reorder the single sided cup rack.I love the flat rack at the bottom. It's a very versatile rack. And if you need to store it, it folds flat and doesn't take up any space. Good buy.

Pros and Cons analysis with critical design notes
Positive things to say about this dish rack:1. The large bottom tray is great for smaller items and glasses.2. The cup rack sides are a great design feature and are fantastic for stemware/ wine glasses.3. This is a large rack which will hold a large load if using both the top and bottom trays.4. This is easily stored and breaks down to a slim design.5. This is well coated so no rusting after a few months of use.Negative design elements:1. This rack is prone to collapsing if the bottom rack is not properly weighted. This is the main reason for my 3 star review. This collapsed on us 3 times. My solution was to zip tie the rack together to keep it from collapsing, and even then the smooth wire slipped through the zip ties and it collapsed on me once more. Now, with the rack zip tied, I can no longer fold this up for storage.2. The extra wide expansion makes it sometimes hard to hold plates. You can nestle them in one side, but the other side of the plate is not as securely fixed, so if you are not careful the plate can fall over. This can be somewhat seen in the Amazon product image as the plates are only nested very shallowly.3. This rack doesn't have wider slots at the ends; the wider slots on other racks are nice for pot lids. All the slots are uniform on this design. We have been using this rack for several months. I do like the size, and after making some accommodations to ensure that we load it properly it is mostly functional. However, with the initial collapsing issues, I still don't trust it. Although the sides will easily accommodate many cups, we don't load many cups on the sides since that top loads the rack which causes it to collapse. All things being equal, this is a critical design flaw and I don't think I would buy this again. But with so few good racks out there, we are still looking for one we really like.

... positive side is that it is collapsible and stores easily when not in use
The positive side is that it is collapsible and stores easily when not in use. It's a spacious rack that holds a lot of stuff to dry, but the down side is that it takes up a lot of counter space when set up. Also, the loop-style lock/holder that keeps it open tends to slip if you move the rack while it is set up. (Look closely at the bottom of the photo to see this supposed "lock.") I already broke a plate because the rack collapsed on me when I tried to move it slightly. The rack really needs a rubber non-slip coating on the part of the lower bar that goes under the loop, which I provided with a piece of adhesive rubber. I wish I had bought the bamboo rack, which looks sturdier.
