Buy this - Very sturdy and well made
This seemed a bit on the pricey side compared to similar items but it is worth it. The height is better than some chemical camping toilets. I am a larger person and l wanted a robust product. I love that it folds flat into its bag but l have kept it assembled in my van and have been able to easily secure it with straps to stop it sliding around as it is square. I have a caravan chemical loo but l wanted one without any sloshy chemicals that may spill and would smell in the heat. The dry absorbent “litter” gel works well and although l have not purchased the fabric lid - i just lay a folded tarp on top so that it is covered. I drive around all day as an engineer and sometimes l may need the loo in a remote area so this is a godsend. Doesn't bend under my 18 stone weight. I can make a bag last a few days maybe a week but in summer when the van gets really hot it started to smell slightly. I love the fact you can just tie up and put in the black bin to dispose of plus they are environmentally kind. . The only downside is the cost of replacement bags. Definitely cheaper to buy 50 in bulk as theres £4.99 shipping so buying in 1o packs would cost more in postage. You can use catlitter and plastic bag but l have not tried this. No leaks or tears using the bags. Can be fiddly to get the holes lined up with the pins under the seat. Very happy though with the popaloo. They could have included a foam moulded lid to really cap it off but probably not designed to be left up as l do. The Rolls Royce of instant loos.

pennies well spent
Definitely five stars for meeting our requirements ie to fit in our VW campervan for night time/emergency visits, comfortable and solid - practically full size, easy put up and take down, compact for storage, no messing around with chemicals or awful emptying, clean and easy means of disposal, etc, etc, - we like it.There is only one criticism, as mentioned by other reviewers - there is no lid.Note to Popaloo - you have missed a couple of opportunities here as it would be relatively easy to provide one at no or very little cost.1. The (essential) carrying bag could open out to sit on top with the sides hanging down, which would provide some sort of air seal and prevent anything inadvertently falling in. The bag could be reconstructed for carrying using velcro similar to the flap fixing. A further refinement would be to have the one face of the bag constructed of a a rigid seat material to form a solid top.2. Otherwise, either the molded seat could be amended to have a hinged up (or removable) lid which sat in and flush with the top of the seat, so that it didn't take up any more space when stored, or there could be a separate lid to fit over the seat for which I can think of a few designs.

Good, but you're essentially relieving yourself into an expensive bag
It works well. I'm not quite sure of the 'Pop' part of it. It's a lot heavier than I was expecting, but is really rigid and solid when slotted together. With the price of the powder bags, it is an expensive way of going to the loo and you still don't get any detachment from essentially relieving yourself into a bag and then having to dispose of them....Some sort of lid over the bowl would be nice too. It's actually quite simple to fit together and pack with the nested sizes of each component, so a couple of test runs ( no pun intended ) should make it obvious.

GREAT - BUT I WISH IT HAD A LID
I am an overweight lady and this toilet suits me well. It is solidly built and the height is similar to my home toilet. The size of aperture is just right too. I want to use this for car camping and a lid is a real necessity. It did come with an elasticated plastic cover which is okay but a solid lid would be far more appropriate. If this had a hinged lid, I would have been happy to award the product an easy 5 stars. To the sellers / designers, please take on board my comments and those of the other reviewers and please, please come up with a matching solid lid.

Good quality
Excellent quality and very sturdy, perfect addition for camping and doesn't take up much room when in its bag.

at first sight seems a good idea but in practice is not
Bought this a year ago and have used it very few times. In a nutshell the Popaloo, at first sight seems a good idea but in practice is not. Some points worth noting are;(1) these bag toilets are not accepted on CCC "in the forest" run sites they allow only chemical toilets and have no facility for waste bag disposal(2) there is no lid so precludes the use of the bag more than once unless you don`t mind having your excrement on show for next user as there is no lid.(3) the cost at 60 quid+ it is up there with Porta Potti and the like.(4) Ongoing cost of ownership is high as the cost of replacement bags are expensive and single use..(5) its heavy.Whilst at a CCC site we were told that these type of toilets are not accepted and we were supplied,at low rental cost,a Khazi Kampa loo with a lift out lidded bucket. This is what we have subsequently purchased to replace the Popaloo. We have a small campervan and although the Khazi It is not collapsible we found that you can invert the frame, place the bucket inside the frame and pack items between the frame and the bucket as well as using the bucket itself to store items in when travelling. It is strong, the right height and extremely practical. It also comes with a lid for the lift out bucket so could be used in the van if caught short. The ongoing cost of ownership is negligible as all that is needed is a rinse and a splash of disinfectant. It can be stood outside the toilet tent if needs be as it has a fold down cover, leaving room in the tent to take a shower. On sites that don`t have chemical disposal points we line the bucket with a biodegradable bag and a handful of cat litter. So the best of both worlds.Final point is the Khazi Kampa is 25.00 quid.

Best Poo In Years
Never thought a Poo could be quite this enjoyable. Recently stuck in a massive que in the post office and luckily had my Popaloo on me. All i did was pop that bad boy out and done the business. By the time i was done the que had almost completely gone. Great Purchase would buy again 10/10

Sitting comfortably.
After our previous folding chair type camping look brockets under my weight (and I’m only 82kg) I bought this one and find it works very well indeed. If feels secure and is easy to erect.
