Milwaukee Electric - M18 Fuel. Braking DIE Grinder Slide Switch

Its loud, its fast and has plenty of torque. It's the real deal... I dunno how they do it but they do. And that means I get to own one of these at a way more digestable price. I bought a 4 pack of tungsten or cobalt burr bits and went to go at it on round of lodgepole, and the first bit went fast and okay... But when it started getting deeper... It would grab like a muff rucka. And when it grabs like that, its hard to hangon and stay in the cut. This thing has a 20k rpm rating I think... And I don't think those bits were made for hogging out wood. So I just looked up random 1/4 shank grinder bits and found rasp bits for wood. Those are perfect for what I've wanted to do.... They don't grab and they grind through at a slower rate even though they're going at 20k rpm. Easy to control and is useful for detailing. Now I gotta figure out what them cobalt burr bits are for so I can see what they're all about...

As a pipelayer this tool is invaluable. Specifically used when cutting down roof drains or cutting existing pvc pipe that were stubbed too far into manholes. When you don't want to shovel 2' around a pipe to fit a Sawzall just hold this sucker down inside your pipe and cut it out clean and easy. I've never had an issue like some but we don't have weak wrists and forearms here. Never used it to cut D.I.P. or cast. Only PVC schd 40, sdr 35 and 26. Time saver. Highly suggest metal blades don't get the abrasive cutting wheels. Get diamond and metal ones they last sooooo much longer. You'll need to buy a Mandrel For Cut-Off Wheels W/3/8" Arbor Hole, 1/4" Stem to use this tool it does not come with one. And of course blades with a 3/8" hole usually 3" diameter for use. It's a must. Cheap tool saves you money on it's first few uses. Stay safe ditch diggers.

Typical Milwaukee build quality! Adjustable and make sure this is the right size for your needs, it’s huge compared to their smaller units. Batteries last a good while, when using all sorts of bits.

Beast of a grinder... will chew through carbide bits. Not rpm adjustment so grasp tightly

Got the M18 die grinder for around $130. This thing sells on Milwaukee's website for like $270! A die grinder is one of those tools that most people don't need often, but when you do need one... there is no substitute. I work on heavy equipment and I've used this bad boy several times since I got it a couple of weeks ago. It's a great die grinder. It's saved my butt a couple of times. It's a good tool at full price. At $130?!? Get it even if you don't need it. I recommend.
