Star Trek: The Next Generation : A Klingon Challenge/Interactive Vcr Board Game

Starship Mine!
Why does board game culture have to be so good now and not back when this first came out? I'll translate... this game is super fun! It's a mash of strategy, cooperation, and betrayal! The real hook here is having it timed and woven into the VHS cinematic component. This amps up the action, anticipation, and the chaos! While the tape never changes, the human component insurers that the game is never the same! And, I swear, the more times you play this game, the better it's gets!! I just wish it had come out now. It was clear they meant to make additional VHS adventures. But, hey! No worries!! If you have a VCR, and at least a mild liking of Star Trek TNG, and let's say maybe you have a few friends in that same circle, you will not be disappointed!! Stock the drinks and put out the oursdevours! The next savior of the Enterprise might be you! This is a fun weeknight that can easily turn into a regular get together event!

A Klingon Challenge!
Old school VCR board game fun! Great for any Star Trek fan and/or those familiar with the old Nightmare/Atmosfear VCR board game series. You basically have an hour to complete various tasks aboard the Enterprise in order to reclaim the ship before it reaches the Klingon home world. It comes with a lot of pieces--various types of cards, playing pieces at different Starfleet ranks (male and female), little plastic "stasis fields" that can trap you, cardboard phasers, tricorders with slots to insert different isolinear chips, rank tokens, and stickers with medals, communicators, and rank pins. Plus, a die, the VHS tape, stands for the playing pieces...We haven't used the sticker medals, communicators, or rank pins yet because we don't want to waste them, but I plan on putting backings on them with pins so we can wear them the next time we play. It's a fun, fast-paced game that you can make work with only two people if need be and it's slightly different each time you play, depending on the number of players and which cards you draw. There's also a full video of the VHS on youtube if you don't have a VHS player!!

Old-school fun!
This is a game for 3 to 6 players. The video sets you up with a scenario: you are a member of a repair crew on the Enterprise when it gets hijacked by a rogue Klingon. You have one hour to move around the board and obtain isolinear chips, a phaser, and bridge access, with the goal of overpowering the Klingon before he reaches his homeworld and rekindles war between Klingons and the Federation. In the meanwhile, the tape runs in the background, functioning as both a timer and a "viewscreen" on which the Klingon appears. He taunts you, and puts many setbacks in your way. Fast play is vital in order to win!I'm a big Star Trek fan and really enjoyed this game, but even my non-fan friends had fun with it too. The fast pace makes it exciting, and since there are many variables (gameplay can be changed by the number of players, what card you draw, or what you get on the spinner) the game will never play the same way twice. Plus, it comes with sticker sheets of communicators and pips that you can wear!

AWESOME GAME! It's best if you don't take it too seriously and just try to have as much silly fun as possible. Take it for what it is: cheesy Star Trek adventure. There's YouTube videos if you don't have a VCR around. Also, you'll want to laminate all of the stickers (badges, pips, etc.) to increase the replay-ability.

Best Star Trek Board Game
I owned a copy of this game during my childhood. But as it was with most board games in my house, we lost the pieces, and eventually what was left of the game was thrown away. I just purchased this game and it is as good as a remember it. Granted, I am a big Star Trek nerd. I would overwhelmingly recommend this game to any Star Trek fan who still owns a VCR.

Perfect condition
This board game arrived very quickly, and was in perfect, pristine condition. Perfect collector's item for the Star Trek fan. This may not be ideal for children, because there are small delicate pieces. Fun adult game to play though!
