Magic paint
I didn't realise what "hammered" meant on the tin - I just wanted a dark green for some metal garden furniture. So the effect of this paint is a bonus: the finish looks metallic rather than the expected dull + it does have a hammered appearance. My new garden seat (wrong original colour but right everything else) looks as if it came from the factory in this colour and needed only one coat. I also painted a steel artwork which had been rusted; this has had one coat and will need a second. Also, a little of the paint goes a long way so I will repaint my metal gates with some of the remainder; the finish means they won't be dull.

Great quality paint for old metal fences or gates etc
This is very good metal paint, and I would highly recommend it to people who have an old metal fence or gate or whatever to paint. Brush off the loose rust, then clean down the area with sugar soap and once that dries paint directly on. It is a bit thicker than a gloss paint in terms of ease of painting, but really does cover up the metal and leaves a high quality even finish. Yep it's slightly more expensive than other metal paints but I was recommended to get this stuff and I really was impressed with the results...and I am no great shakes at diy.

Peeling
I’ve never know hammerite paint to peel off metal railings. But it was scratched off by the kids during summer break & now I’ve tried to cover it in, the paint softened again and had peeled off. Really poor, I’ve used the black hammerite in the past and it adhered with no issues but this one has me baffled!

before you start painting make sure your tin contains the 2.5L of paint not less!
bought from amazon warehouse "Minor cosmetic imperfection on top, front or sides of item (affecting less than 10% surface area" the can was completly damaged approx 1 liter of paint was missing, only discovered this once i had popped the lid when i was just about to start painting, so i wasn't going to just call it quits and return it, my suspicions were correct, i previously done the back of my shed which is a area of 2mx2m with a 750ml can, the front of my shed is 2mx2m and the sides of my shed are 1.5mx1.5m the roof is 2x2m being that i done the back already i needed 750ml for front + 750ml for roof and 500ml for each side meaning 2.5L instead what i got was 1 side, the front, and part of the roof before paint ran out there seemed to be a liter of paint missing.... will have to buy more in future as it's not cheap for me to afford to finish painting shed now, although it is a beautiful colour of paint.

GOOD FOR COVERING RUST.
ARRIVED ON TIME, VERY GOOD PAINT FOR SLOWING DOWN, AND STOPPING RUST, MAKE SURE YOU DONT MISS ANY AREAS, OR RUST WILL SPREAD AGAIN,I USED IT ON THE 1.5M X 30M STEEL MESH FENCING I BUILT ROUND THE POND AREA, AND BEING DARK GREEN THE HAMMERITE BLENDS IN WELL WITH THE SHRUBS AND PLANTS, AND BEING "HAMMERED PAINT" IT HIDES THE " NOT SO SMOOTH RUSTY AREAS" ON THE MESH PANELS.APPLY USING A SMALL ROLLER ITS EASIER AND TOUCH UP AFTERWARDS,
