Bonsaii 12-Sheet Micro Cut Heavy Duty Paper Shredder for Home Office

I tend to save LOTS of paperwork & receipts... WAY MORE than I probably should (but we'll just keep that little secret between the two of us, ok, thanks). So when I decided to organize my office, I found I had a LOT more to shred than I initially realized. This soon resulted in the complete exhaustion & demise of my pre-2001 3-sheet shredder, may she rest in peace <brief 30- second moment of silence for her many years of faithful service>. Moving on: THIS shredder is sooooo much quieter than the aforementioned Suzie Shredder. I can just shred away & still listen to my podcasts without having to put in my ear buds. It's VERY civil. Additionally, it can easily handle much larger groups of paper; It's rated for 12 sheets @ a time. That makes large shredding jobs much faster. When you have been used to a limit of 3 at a time, 12 is amazing! One of the most important features is that this shredder is rated to run for up to 60 minutes per session, then requiring a 20- min. cooling off period. This is a very important feature for people with moderate to large shredding needs, considering lesser quality shredders typically are limited to anywhere from 3 to 6 min. before requiring a 30- min. cooling period. This is due in part to the fact that this shredder has an actual cooling fan built in. Again, something you will never see with lesser quality shredders. Finally, I should point out that the micro shredding product is remarkably small. Unlike other shredders, that complete the job in strips that can still be read, the small squares produced by this shredder are absolutely impossible to read. You can be assured that your information is absolutely destroyed with this product. The removable bin makes it easy to dispose of the shredded material. I simply stretch a plastic grocery bag across a standard office trash can, holding it open with a couple of office clips, then, dump the shredded material into that, then off to the dumpster, it goes. Also worth mentioning this shredder can devour staples, credit cards & CD's. I would not risk putting paper clips through there. Attention*** when shredding a CD, MAKE SURE YOUR FINGER IS NOT IN THE CENTER HOLE OF THE C.D. WHEN PLACING IT IN THE SHREDDER. YOU COULD LOSE A FINGER!!! Very happy I purchased this. It appears very well made and due to the internal cooling fan, It should last a long time. I give it five bunnies...I mean stars. (If you were born after 1979, you won't get the reference) Happy shredding!

So in love with this machine. Shredded for 20 minutes without one hiccup. No clogging, jamming, or slow downs. Perfect sir for home use, fits in a corner or under desk. Super easy to empty. I love that it cuts bits and not strips. Great value for the money.

The bonsaii 12 sheet paper shredder is the BEST that I have used. Love the small size of the shredded paper, it is thorough and it is quiet. The pull out basket makes for easy disposal of shredded paper. Well built. Easy to use. Perfect for home use.

I debated tremendously when it came time to purchase another shredder. I spent a lot of money on my last one well known brand and it’s stunk. I barely used it and he broke within six months. This one has been so far so good, I only use it about once a month and it does take 12 pieces of paper at once, it’s quiet and he meets my needs. Award of caution, did not purchase the oil for the blades, spend a little more and get the good Sheets. There are better suited, they are for sure less messy, and they do work better on the blades good luck.

I bought this to replace a home office paper shredder that I had for close to 10 years. This is a great replacement. Love the wheels so i can move it around. Not real noisy. Shreds very well and pretty quickly many sheets at a time. Easy to pull the drawer out and empty. I use it almost daily and it seems to be pretty sturdy.

So I spend hours looking at different shredders, reviews and was going crazy in circles. Seemed every single one including those over hundreds of dollars had some kind of negative like overheating, not lasting long etc... I guess I was expecting the 'perfect' shredder and not expecting them to overheat etc .. since the VERY old Royal shredder I have is when crosscut shredders first came out. Never realized needed to oil etc... for a shredder and it stills work but you can still read bits of the paper soooo thought it was time to step into 21st century and get a micro shredder and i'm so glad i did!! Can't read ANYTHING. So how did I choose this one? One of the reviews a guy was feeding this shredder with cardboard boxes! No joke! I figured if it could handle cardboard boxes, it's pretty durable. Now I'm just looking to shred paper for a friend's compost so no plastic or stables but I do shred a lot for my business. I was saving a huge box of paper to shred for weeks anticipating a new shredder to try it on. One of my concerns is shredding too much for too long and waiting for cool down. I just want to shred and shred not wait for cool down. Well I don't know what the time limit on this shredder is but I was shredding away well over an hour and NO ISSUES at all. Hubby asked if I was trying to kill it lol I kept feeling the shredder to see if it was hot or anything as my old shredder you could feel a bit of heat on it. Nope! Not this shredder. The only time I stopped shredding was to empty the bin. One thing I noticed is my old cross cut shredder would leave a mess trying to empty it (same bin style as this one) because paper would be stuck on the head part where it shreds. I'd have to unplug it and pull out chunks of the shredded paper out and stick a pointy envelope opener in between the blades - royal pain with the royal shredder lol Not this one! I looked under the head of the shredder expecting some paper up in the head/shredding part but nope! Nothing there! I guess that's the advantage of micro shredders? I don't know why people feel the need to put bags inside the bin - totally unnecessary but I would have done that with my old messy cross cut if I would have thought of that! So I read about people feeling the need to unplug it and I never unplugged my old one but was going to with this one but totally forgot until I noticed few days later it was still plugged in but thankfully no issues. I did turn it off but that's just habit for me. Oh and quiet! I never realized that was an option for a shredder. I watched tv while sitting on the floor shredding and never thought I'd be able to do that. Also this shredder just seems like it's built hard like a tank so I can understand why that one reviewer ran cardboard through it and said you can't kill it. I don't think you can I'm happy with it. Oh yeah just a heads-up, there appeared to be one or two micro shredded paper in the head as well as oil so I thought maybe this was used and returned but there's no way with the Styrofoam inside the bin - it's tough getting that out without breaking it so then I realized they pre greased the shredder which was nice. As far as oil idk if I'm gonna use any. I've read mixed reviews but mostly people saying it causes jam so on the fence about that. So you can stop driving yourself crazy researching and reading reviews like I did because this shredder is the one without spending couple hundred of dollars!

Had my share of shredders, but this one is the real deal. The motor is powerful and it does what it says in the description. You can shred multiple pages at a time; it does not cut off quickly; cuts well. I highly recommend.

Great little shredder. So quiet the crunching of paper is louder than the motor, which is a vast improvement to my last shredder that made me concerned about using it at night. It's more expensive than others but what made it worth it was - 12 sheet shredding (my old one was 15 sheet but whined at about 5. This one crunches merrily away at 12), 60 min runtime!! (great for end of the year shredding), removable bin with window so you can see when it needs to be emptied and don't have to vacuum up all the bits from turning it upside down like my old one. It also does a little extra whir at the end so it doesn't collect cuttings bunches in the blades. The casters are a nice touch. Worth paying a little more for this good shredder.

Hoy probé la trituradora de bonsáis por primera vez con 18 hojas. Trituré seis a la vez y las hojas pasaron sin problemas. También trituré algunas tarjetas de crédito, que también pasaron sin problemas. Me gusta que se pueda usar durante 30 minutos antes de tener que parar. Actualizaré esta reseña cuando la tenga un poco más de tiempo; solo la tengo desde hace tres días. Me gusta que tenga ruedas y sea fácil de mover. Creo que el precio es muy bueno y seguiré usándola y les contaré más adelante.

I just plugged my unit in minutes ago. Ordered this product and got it the next day. This is my 3rd paper shredder, all from different companies. This one is the biggest and the best. I needed a bigger one. My old one, was jamming up and would over heat in like 10 minutes. This one is great. I first put 6 papers through, then 8 then 10 and it ate them up like a hungry squirrel. I love the big window. It is not that noisy. It shuts down somewhat after the papers have gone through. It sounds like it was made with care and a real professional unit. It shreds the paper up much smaller than my other unit. I don't see this product over heating as I have it for just my home and it could go weeks without being used. It is a great idea to shred important documents these days with all the identify theft out there. My review here is based on just a few minutes worth of use. If things change, I will update here.
