Does the imperial measurements go up in feet , ie 1 2 3 4 5 ect and not 12 24 36 48 60 ? .....

Hi. The imperial scale goes up in 1" increments, i.e.1" to 11" with the 12th increment identified as 1ft. The next increments are then also in 1" increments i.e.13" to 23" with the 24th increment identified as 2ft and so on. Hope that's clear and helps.
