DAXGD Handheld Security Metal Detector Alarm and Vibration, Metal Finder Scanner

Brilliant device if your new in security helps deter people from coming in with a weapon.

I bought this as I have a batch of recycled timber that I wanted to put through the thicknesser and needed to check for screws and nails before doing so. It works okay for larger objects and the screws and nails I can see on the surface, so I scanned a length of timber which checked out ok and fired up the thicknesser. When the piece came out the other end I was very dissapointed to see a shiny spot of freshly planed nail shank! The piece of timber was only 18mm thick before I planed it yet the detector failed to spot the nail that was less then 2mm from the surface. New planer baldes are going to set me back £30...Anyway, I decided I'd follow the instructions and set the sensitivity in the hope that it would pick up these smaller pieces. There is no adjustment for sensitvity! It's an empty hole in the handle. As others have said (See Q&A) there is no way to adjust the sensitivity on this thing, it's a con. I now own a metal detector that can't be trusted and a damaged planer blade. Not the best money I've ever spent that's for sure...

I bought this to use in my woodwork shop to hopefully detect metal inclusions in old/used timber but it was not fit for purpose and I returned it for a full refund. Amazon of course made this very straightforward.

Bought this to try and find a small silver pendant lost during cutting a hedge. We knew it was lost either in the hedge or somewhere in the long grass and brambles beside the hedge but could not find it by just looking. The scanner arrived, popped a battery in and played around with it for a bit. Functions work well, a loud shrill tone or a buzz if it finds metal, plus high or low sensitivity which also works well. I wasn't sure if it was going to be powerful enough to find the pendant, which was crystal set into a thin silver mount, but started poking about on the long grass at the edge of the hedge and low and behold, it found it!! Completely hidden by leaves and grass, I'd never have seen the pendant on its own so definitely recommended this metal scanner for finding hidden items.

I bought this for finding nails in stud walls and wood that I would plane down. It seems okay on the couple of tests that I have carried out so far but no better than my old magnet does. It mentions a sensitivity setting in the documentation. I have a hole but do not believe there is a screw head inside it. I am a builder and generally find what I'm looking for - and its not there. If the seller would like to contact me, that would increase my rating.

I bought this as I put on events, and a client had asked for enhanced security including a metal detector search.This is a fantastic product and picks up small and large metal objects on people's person or inside bags. It's very light weight, so it's easy to carry in hand or with the included side strap pouch. Works via a power cable which is great when searching inside, but also works on batteries so can be used in an outdoor setting as well!Couldn't ask for more from this scanner at a low price and security staff commented on how comfortable it was to use.

Very happy with my purchase, lightweight and easy to use with clear instructions. Very sensitive for the price, having looked at detectors that were much more expensive I was dubious about buying this but was pleasantly surprised, definitely value for money. I needed to check some timber before sawing and this has been great in finding foreign objects and saving my saw blade.
