Kettle Moraine Recycled Double Oriole Orange Fruit Feeder

We originally set out orange halves expecting orioles. Every feathered fellow and female of any size uses this for a quick orange/sugar snack. They can, on a busy day, do through two halves on each spike. That means we put on fresh oranges after dusk so it will be ready at daylight and we replace the eaten orange half with a fresh one mid afternoon since only the skin is left.The orange color attracts birds. The sturdy construction withstands rough handling - think children wanting to help.

I love the look of the product and the orioles seem to like it. The perches for the birds are a perfect length from the orange to give them plenty of room. I found a couple of flaws that would cause me not to buy the product again. The pegs to put the oranges on have many unfinished sharp metal edges and they are not secured on the product. They just drilled a hole through the plastic and pushed the peg through. Looks functional but when you try to put oranges on the pegs, it just pushes the peg through. the peg is too sharp to hold while you push the fruit on one side, so the only way to do it is to put both sides of fruit on at the same time. the problem with that is it doesn't stand well so you are fighting that as well as the moving pegs.

great product though i havent attracted any orioles it is not because of the feeder.i also took a small plastic container and drill holes in it to thread it onto one spike for grape jelly which they love

I’m impressed by how well made this feeder is. And within six hours of putting it out, I had a male Baltimore Oriole feed on it. Five stars!

Great feeder for oranges. Having issue uploading photo but within an hour had 4 orioles treating themselves to otanges
