Wow! Does not feel or sound like $200
Wow. Absolutely can’t believe this is a $200 guitar. I’ve been playing around 40 years and have owned guitars from this price up to custom guitars that were almost $4000. I have not run across any other guitars in this price range that compare. Finish is flawless and absolutely gorgeous. Very unique and has a classic muscle car kind of vibe. Tuners are smooth and functional. I will most likely replace them at some point with some guyker locking tuners, but no rush as these have no issues. I just prefer locking tuners for ease of string changes. Playable out of the box with a nice mid/low action with no buzz, high enough that I can really dig in without rattling and low enough to play with very little effort. The fret work appears to be good enough that it could be lowered without issue, but it’s exactly what I prefer out of the box. The stainless frets are very smooth and comfortable no sharp edges no extra work needed The neck is a very comfortable C shape a tad narrower than a typical SG almost strat like. Very resonant, I can feel the body vibrating with each chord, unplugged it has a nice midrangey growl and bite. I fully expected to be changing pickups and electronics but after playing it plugged in I see no reason for now. Nice fat but clear tone and full sized pots were a nice surprise as well. Bone nut is well cut with no binding issues Overall I’m extremely impressed And would expect to pay in the neighborhood of $700-$800 for something similar. This was an anniversary present from my beautiful wife and I’ll have to say she did very well I’m enjoying it

Black Racer GT is an AWESOME Axe!
I'm blown away by how nice the black GT Racer is. Beautiful design and attention to craftmanship from WestCreek. I used to have a higher-end Epiphone SG that I loved playing -- similar models go for about $750 these days -- and I did not expect a $220 guitar from China to be its equal. But it is! I'd just as soon play this Racer as a Gibson SG that costs ten times as much; I suspect the only appreciable difference would be the cost of the pickups. My Racer arrived in flawless condition right out of the box. I expected to spend a lot of time doing my own set-up, so I was amazed at how well everything was constructed and set up already. I prefer the lowest possible action, and the Racer was set super low. So low that it had a little buzz in only the first fret, which I easily eliminated with about a quarter turn of both screws that raise the saddle level. Intonation needed a slight adjustment. Both before and after my action adjustment, the notes at the 12th fret went a few cents flat on the low E, A, and D string. I easily fixed this with several turns of the individual saddle screws on those three stings, and didn't need to do a thing to the other three strings. I only mention these details to illustrate how minor they are -- they took a very leisurely twenty-five minutes to get sorted -- and in what great shape this guitar arrived at my door. The neck needed no adjustment, the frets feel perfectly smooth and rounded along both sides of the neck, the electronics have zero problems, the finish is uniformly gorgeous, and I can't find a single detail to be unhappy with. If you prefer an ultra-light electric, you might find the Racer a bit on the heavy side. Like an SG, it has a mahogany body, and it has some weight to it. I am guessing the maple neck is a set neck (glued into place), because it certainly isn't a bolt-on. The result is a guitar that feels like a solid slab, and you can feel the neck and body resonate as one when plucking the open strings. The weight, when standing to play, is not as well-balanced as my old Ibanez Iceman (another amazing guitar in the $750 range that the Racer would hold its own against), but better balanced than my old ESP Baritone Viper (which was awesome but a bit of a beast). Overall, the weight and balance are comparable to an actual SG, and quite comfortable for me. I find that when I'm sitting to play, a little boost under my right foot supports the guitar and gets everything in the most comfortable position. The fretboard feels very close to flat, which I prefer and am happy about, but you might consider this fact if you prefer a more Strat-style neck with a noticeably curved radius. The curve and shape of the back of the neck feels super comfortable in my hand, as does the width. My hands might be on the smallish side for guitarists -- I can't do huge stretches like Van Halen, Hendrix, and Holdsworth -- and I'm an unremarkably average 5-feet-9-inches build. So, maybe someone bigger or smaller than me might have different feedback on the neck shape and the overall weight. It's important to find a guitar that fits you personally. If WestCreek ever wants to do their version of an Iceman body style with this quality of craftmanship, I'll be one of the first to buy it. For now, I am having a blast re-learning "Midnight" by Joe Satriani on this axe. She's beautiful.

Straight Outta The Box!!! Really Cool!
I've been a gigging musician for a long time. I own a bunch of guitars; some higher-end, some not, and everything in between. I like picking up cheaper guitars and changing out a couple things, and then using them for gigs. It allows me to mix up the aesthetics on stage for a variety of looks without breaking the bank. This is the second WC Racer I ordered. The first one had a broken strap button scrrew that had broken inside the body. When I discovered that upon arrival I resturned it for a refund and ordered another one. When The new one arrived, I gave it a look over. The intonation was on, the setup was very good, and it looked to be strung with D'Addario strings. The pickups have a moderate output, The tuners seem to hold tune well. The nut was slotted very nicely. These guitars are gig-worthy out of the box. Sure you can upgrade parts but you don't have to...EXCEPT I would suggest replacing the screws that hold this trap buttons on for some better quality ones, just in case. This is a super fun & cool entry priced guitar that definitely punches above its weight. It's not one of those affordable guitars that an experienced player would pick up and want to immediately put down because it feels so cheap. It doesn't feel cheap at all. All in all, I would say the West Creek Racer is a solid choice if you're looking to add a cool looking guitar to your collection that you can gig with can that can add a different look to your stage presence?.

The Actual Best Guitar Here
I left an initial review calling this thing a baseball bat. Something was off with me. I've played around with this a bit more since then. By that, I mean this guitar has singlehandedly enabled me to bust out any Ace Frehley solo at any moment such is required. It is so slim. The neck is perfect for small hands. It is so resonant that you can happily practice unplugged. It's very light, but it feels very solid, and neck dive isn't really that bad. The anchor point of the foremost bolt for a strap is a little closer than with a Fender shape, so it does hang on you a little differently. YMMV, but I got into a local band with this piece of magic. If you feel like your shoddy guitars might be holding you back– get this and practice till your callouses have callouses. The pickups are quite warm, in my opinion. Classic humbucker sound. They take grit well, but here is another thing that I can confirm seems to be standard spec given I own three different Racers now: they're also perfect for pinch harmonics. These babies scream like the devil when you dig in and find those fun little squealy spots. They just feel so active in spite of obviously not being active. They have this special microphonic quality that makes them weirdly good for nailing your tone in a KISS cover group. Buy this! I have one in drop B, one in Eb, and one in E– and I didn't even have to change the action. I only need this model of guitar. But, do remember to lube your nuts. They cut these pretty well, but there ain't no graphite in there.

Bumble Bee X2 and Matte Blk Racer! AWESOME!!!
Initially ordered the Bumble Bee for myself. When my daughter saw it and said, "yellow and black are my favorite colors." The guitar became hers. So, the only thing wrong with the guitar is that its not mine. It seems I can't write a separate review for the Matte Blk Racer. I'll add some info below. All pics were taken pretty much out of the box and during restringing and minor cleaning. It was Super Clean. It was tunable and playable out of the box too. The strings it came with weren't bad, think they're 9's. Left them on for about 2 weeks. Everything is good with this guitar. So good I ordered the Black Matte for myself. Bumble Bee, The neck only needed a slight 1/4 turn. Action was good, lowered it a little. It has a bone nut. Some reviewers said plastic. Not mine. Definitely bone. After stringing, I clip the excess and loosen the string off the nut. I Use the excess and slide it through the nut, kinda like filing the sharp edges off. You'll know its bone when doing this, smells different than plastic. If you ever had to file a bone nut down to fit a guitar before, you will definitely know the smell. Pickup height set easily. Intonation was pretty good. I did have to have my Bro pop out the tiny E/C clamps on the E,A and D strings to turn the saddles around. Then intonation was 100% perfect. The tuners are GOOD, It stays in tune. Slight Neck dive and wider fretboard, like and SG. Fretboard is Flawless and Clean. Awesome color and finish. Pickups sound GOOD clean or distorted, Not microphobic. Controls and switch are smooth & static free. Overall, it's a Really Great Guitar. So Great, we need to have 2 in the House. Oh yeah, I have the Westcreek 333 also. Its another NICE One! Blk Matte arrived fast & double boxed. It is VERY Nice too. No marks or scratches. Didn't do the set up yet. Intonation is almost perfect. This time I won't need to flip the saddles. Guitar jack was loose (they're always loose). Needed to open the back to hold it as I tightened so It didn't spin & rip a wire, inside. Cavity is CLEAN but not insulated. Strings are light gauge. Fretboard is GOOD. Action is adjustable but perfect. Neck has just the right amount of relief. May need to be adjusted when I put on heavier gauge strings. Pickups are definitely brighter than the Yellow Bumble Bee. Switch and control knobs work with the right amount of sensitivity. Quarter size pots. Pickups have the split coil option, you'd just need the right pots. The Blk doesn't seem to stay in tune as good as the Yellow and the tuners are more sensitive and loose. Maybe its the strings. IDK yet. Set up was Easy. Neck had the perfect amount of relief after the string change, intonation on E,A & D strings needed MINOR tweeking, G,B &E were Good. Lowered the action and raised the pickups the way I like em'. 3 Great Westcreek Guitars. Promised the Wife, Absolutely No More Guitars (this Year). Its Nov 29th. Update, 1 yr later: Ended up getting a Bumble Bee for myself. The guitars are still doing Great and are played often. After reading more reviews and looking at the pics, I want ANOTHER One.

Sounds as good as it looks. Looks awesome!!
Did I get lucky again or just get a great model shipped to me. I have no idea but if this is typical West Creek guitars I will be buying more of them. 1) Looks-4.5 stars, The guitar is sleek and gorgeous. High gloss body with chrome hardware and binding on the neck, matching color headstock. Only deducting a half a star because the neck pocket was not finished sanding before color and clear applied and the "bondo" used to make the joint from neck to body has some flaws that could have been sanded out first. Frets are ball end and smooth as glass. Impressed with them. 2) Sound-5 stars. This thing growls like the much more expensive American made model it is loosely copying. Seriously if sound was patented for musical instruments like it is for Harleys, These guys would be in trouble. I will NOT be changing out the pickups on this. I thought that I would when I bought it but not any more. Neck pickup is microphonic but rolling back the volume and staying away from the front of the amp cures any issues and does little to nothing to affect the sound. 3) Setup-4 stars. Nothing out of the box is perfect, even a setup guitar might not be set up how the individual player likes it. Being said, Intonation was so close that I could adjust my finger pressure and keep it in tune up the neck. The nut could use a very slight touch up but only a few thousandths, they are very close. I will mess with it after I change strings to my liking. Still using the stock ones and they play fine. E and A strings will slightly buzz at higher frets. Something I will address after I put a new set of strings on. 4) Electronics- 4 stars. Only issues I have are the microphonic neck pickup and the 3 way switch clicks through the amp if you change positions too hard in the heat of playing. If you leave it in one position not a problem. I have not pulled the back cover off yet to see what it was built with, I am having too much fun playing it. I almost don't want to because I don't want to be disappointed even though I am very happy with the sound and quality for now

this is perfect for me
i was looking for something unique and purple, my GF fav color, gonna put a Micky Mouse middle finger decal on it as she like MM. maybe ill get a truss rod cover with her name on it. i read a review that said scale is 24.75 but measured 25 i believe 25...not as much of a stetch on my small hands as 25.5 and enough room left over that 24.75 doesnt give. strings feel like 9s. easy to play, was inotated right out of the box. slight fret buzz on 6 and 5 at the 1st fret. nice low action on it like i like it traditional power chords are easier on this neck as is the spider chord. The frets are a little small, smaller than my les pauls but thats ok im not a lead player and they are nice shiny ball end, beautiful over all.was almost in tune out of the box. no neck dive which is great. plays fast for small frets. I have more expensive guitars that are not this well made or as easy to play. this is definitely worth the money if not more. Im gonna have to get the explorer style next.

Solid SG-style guitar
It's a fun guitar, although I wouldn't recommend it for someone with a bad back - it's pretty heavy. The purple is a flat finish that looks pretty good, but isn't nearly as bright and "purplish" as the example pictured. The guitar was set up pretty well; it was playable right out of the box, and it stays in tune. The pickups are OK, not quite telephonic, but still loud. The grounding could be a bit better, as it sometimes hums if you aren't touching the strings. It plays very well, especially if you put 9s on it. It just feels great in my hands. All in all, this is a great-looking and sounding SG-style guitar with a great price.
