STAEDTLER WOPEX Pre-Sharpened #2 Pencils, Pack of 20 - Ergonomic Triangular Shape, Break-Resistant, Non-Slip Surface, Wood-Polymer, PVC-Free Eraser Tip

I bought 40 of these pencils for adults to use. One caveat: The ad says they are "...triangular shape...", this implies three-sided to those who know what a triangle is. Not to be; they are hexagonal (six-sided) just like a regular pencil but don't roll away from you easily and that's a good thing. Other than the glitch in the description, they are a good buy. They are sturdy, easy to handle and the graphite leaves a dark and readable trail. The pencils have a nice eraser which is PVC and latex free so if you like to chew on the eraser, its safe; otherwise, there is ample eraser to make plenty of mistakes. A good value.

This pencil offers great value. The design is simple yet stylish, and the grip makes it comfortable to hold, even during longer writing sessions. The pencil writes smoothly, with good lead quality that doesn’t break easily. The eraser is decent—it works well for light marks but might struggle with heavier shading. Overall, it’s a well-made pencil.

I had enough of cheap / low quality pencils in my woodworking shop, so I gave these a try. They make smooth, sharp, and clear markings on wood, which makes it easier to see and make accurate cuts. These pencils stay sharper longer and don't break as easily. The bright green colors are also high visibility and don't readily get lost among other woodworking paraphernalia. Germany makes high performance motorcycles, machinery, cars, tools, and now pencils. I recommend these.

These pre-sharpened pencils have a nice point - not the tiny shallow factory points I usually see on pre-sharpened pencils. The pencil feels nice in the hand. Well-balanced. The eraser works very well. My experience with resin or composite wood case pencils has been average at best. Many have a very waxy feel on the paper, but these Wopex pencils are closer to natural graphite in the feel going on the paper. They write smoothly but a little bit light. A tiny bit less than the average HB/#2 in the USA, but within the acceptable range. The durability of the composite lead they use is excellent. I have written several pages in cursive and the point retention is better than I even hoped for. I sharpened just now and it sharpens nicely. Rotate the pencil a bit lower than a traditional wood pencil, and the composite wood is a little denser. Overall, for a composite wood pencil, these are a pretty good value. I took one star off due to the lightness of the lead and the slight waxy feeling on the paper, but I will be buying these again.

My favorite pencils for my classroom!

These are awful pencils. At least for me. A bit surprising coming from Staedtler. It feels like writing with a dull candle. The marks are very faint. The lead is strong, Ill give them that. But its not a trade off worth making. I burn through about a pencil a day and can hardly stand using these for anything. The eraser works well, but with the marks being so faint to begin with that might be generous. I use them for writing and math on several different paper qualities and types. Same results regardless. The points would work great for both if the lead compounding wasnt so bad. Maybe these will work okay for woodworking, or writing on sand paper? The green looks nice. They feel like a regular pencil until you try to write with them. They are silent. I like the sound a #2 makes though. Its soothing. These arent that. Maybe you draw, or like faint marks and dont care about the soothing sound of a pencil scratching away on paper. These might be good for you. On those assumptions I wont blast them with one star. But be warned.

These pencils remind of pencils I loved when I was in school. Empire/Berol made composite pencils and these were as close as I could find. I love how the write and I love how easily they are to sharpen.

Not good for writing or marking, too pale tace, one can barely see it.

The pencils are sightly heavier than usual pencils,but my kids and students didn't complain it. The price is very reasonable considering the brand. In short, I love the 'green' pencils.

Favourite pencils to buy. Easy to sharpen and the lead doesn't keep breaking.
