Must have for a gardyn
Works to keep PH where it’s needed without additional supplements. Also helps to keep my gardyn clean. I haven’t tried different brands but based on the group I’m in, they have tried different brands and have noticed it’s harder to maintain the unit when using off brands.

Softens hard water
The plants in My Gardyn seem very content. I don't see hard water crystalization in the tank. Expensive, but it lasts quite awhile.

Simple maintenance
Love this product for when I refill my GARDYN tank. I used to add hydrogen peroxide to the water but I think this is much more effective. I have hard water where I live so I add 4tsp every tank change and it seems to decrease the algae + I use those rubber pod blockers to prevent light around the rock wool. I am not the greatest at remembering to top of my tank frequently so I usually end up adding it once a month. Works well and then about 1x per year I reset all plants and run the entire unit with a dishwasher lemishine packet (no plants or pods in). Use a toothbrush to scrub inside the plant cavities to loosen any green algae. Then reset and add all new fresh water and new pods.

Substantially identical products are available for a quarter of the price
There is a reason that the images deceptively hide the ingredients of this expensive product: they are basic and inexpensive. For a water treatment that is functionally identical to Gardyn Hydroboost, the most direct commercial alternative is PHLO pH Down+ by Hydroponic Research. It lists the exact same active ingredients (Citric Acid, Triterpenoid Saponins, and Limonene) and performs the same functions: lowering pH, preventing biofilm, and keeping the system clean.

Overpriced but it works.
It’s good but it’s price gouging. I tried alternatives that have worked almost as well and I’m sad to admit I’m going to go back and try this, but it is not cost-effective. At all.

Works well in hydroponics garden
Works well in my hydroponic garden. It came quickly and is the same as from the company website.

Use it weekly
Since setting up my gardyn system I use hydroboost weekly and it seems to do the job. It does drop the Ph quite a bit so watch out for that if you don't have really hard water. I simply add some ph up and i'm good to go

Doesn’t seem with anything
I don’t notice a difference when I use this vs not using this. It’s extremely overpriced and so far the value for the $ isn’t showing. I have two gardyns and to test I used it in one, and used peroxide in the other.
