Exam 70–646: Windows Server 2008 Administrator with Lab Manual Set (Microsoft Official Academic Course Series)

I bought this book for one of my classes and it was about $60 cheaper through here then the college. The first book is the 'Text Book' which is in color and goes hand in hand with the lab book. The 'Lab Book' is in black and white, and leaves you a little room for writing your answers and again this is a walk through version of the text book. I like the book because it was interesting to set everything up and was pretty much a "Mom hold my hand" instructional book.

Good book very informative as far as the lab goes writer could have chosen better use of vocabulary and timing in lots of areas needed info came after the point of execution so most users end up backtracking and redoing certain parts of labs

This book was a required textbook for a networking class I am taking at a local community college. As you may guess, it is the MS 70-646 test.As far as buying from Amazon, or whomever my seller was being fulfilled by Amazon, I am happy. The items came quickly and there were no hassles. Completely satisfied with the Buying Experience.70-646 Text book - I have to disclose that I am still in the class and haven't opened the text book much. At first glance it appears to have a lot of screenshot by screenshot "What it looks like when you are setting up XXX." While these sorts of guides are helpful when actually setting something up ("Am I in the right screen to set this value?") I feel they are more appropriate in a supplementary text, online, or in the lab manual.70-646 Lab Manual - I have found the lab manual to be very detailed so far, and am satisfied. In fact, the step by step descriptions of the labs are so detailed, that many of my classmates are simply clicking and not understanding what they are actually changing. As in, I will ask them "Why did we have to put this value in here" and their only response is "Because the lab manual said so." This is not really a criticism of the lab manual, and I am betting the text portion of the book does a good job of covering the "why"s, but it is a trap you could fall into, as the labs don't require much thinking if you follow step by step. The thinking comes in when your classmate (or you!) misconfigure something, and you spend 40 minutes trying to find out what went wrong.

Was the book needed for my college class and the book store at my college wanted 180 or so for it. Just pay attention, i didn't realize this was coming from italy. Still arived soon enough though so i'm happy and was way cheapier than buying it from the bookstore at my college.

I ordered this book and found out it was not the textbook we would be using. It was not a problem returning it.
