Great hitch
This hitch is perfect for towing a lightweight trailer. It's very easy to install/remove and store when not in use. It's very heavy and the threading is smooth. It's a great practical item at a great price. Very pleased with this purchase.

Awesome ball
I like the looks, design, and construction of this ball. It's attractive, functional, and robust. We use it with a Curt ball mount and a Curt tow hitch receiver for towing our inboard ski boat and its trailer. Curt makes good products and we believe our confidence in them is well justified.

Hitch ball
Needed a new hitch ball and this one was perfect for me. Price is good and finish should last for years.

Installation is a challenge
Well made ball with good finish, and it works fine, but installation onto the ball mount requires 250 ft-lb of torque to properly tighten the 1-1/2 inch nut. So, I had to obtain both a suitable torque wrench and a 1/2 inch drive, 1-1/2 inch size socket. However, even once I had those, the 250 ft-lb torque requirement was too high to merely clamp the flats of the ball in the vise mounted to my workbench and tighten the nut--it would have toppled the bench. Holding the ball against rotation with a large wrench (I used a huge pipe wrench) engaging the ball flats with one hand while tightening the nut with the other hand using the torque wrench also didn't work for me; though their handles were each about 18 inches long, I wasn't strong enough to force the two wrench handles together to achieve the required torque. Finally, I slipped the ball mount SIDEWAYS into my truck's hitch receiver, such that the ball and its threaded portion extended horizontally, parallel to the truck bumper. This orientation allowed the handle of the pipe wrench (engaged with the ball flats) to be supported by the ground. I could then put substantially all of my weight on the torque wrench, which allowed me to torque the nut to the required 250 ft-lb installation torque.
