For a one horsepower motor this thing is dead quiet, it was easy to install, easy to hook up, and works almost as good as that grinder on Fargo.

Easy installation, quiet and very quick to grind up food waste.

Installed it as I mounted it to previous Insinkerator that lasted only 3 years (it was 3/4 hp). Indianapolis has the worst city water of any major city and it ate up components of old disposal. Before inserting this new, stronger power unit, we had a water softener installed....ALL IS WELL!

Perfect replacement for a matching old model, e.g., 444-5, fitting right in place without any changes in plumbing. The body is 1" wider than that of 444-5 due to a plastic cover, but all the connectors are exactly in the same locations as in the old one so a DIY installation is simple. Noisy but extremely powerful. More advanced and noiseless models are much wider and will require moving the outlet tube and much more space.

Works great. Louder than my old one

First off, if your current food waste disposal is not working, there could be a cut off switch on the bottom of it depending on the brand. Often if there is too much stuff in it or it is being stalled by something that gets in there that shouldn't, it will often pop a fuse on the bottom to prevent it from burning out. Not a lot of people know this. That might be worth a shot. Bought this to replace a 1/2 HP lower model of the same brand barely worked anymore. The directions are detailed and I had no real problem installing this. The connections were where they needed to be. The size was bigger, but it fit just fine in the space. One nice upgrade from the older lower tier model is sound. This is not silent, but it is much quieter than my old one and a noticeable improvement. It is just not nearly as annoying to hear. In terms of performance, I think it is great to upgrade to a higher HP model. I saw a video where a plumber recommended getting the best that you can afford in terms of power. We eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and this thing tears up the skins and ends with ease. I personally think it has gotten even better with some time. Almost as if the grinding parts got sharper or something. It used to leave a lot of little bits in there that would get ground up with the next batch. I have noticed that it seems to clear most stuff out now the first time. Worthwhile replacement of the older broken one.

This replaced our older InSinkErator purchased from a local hardware store. As garbage disposal units go, this one seems to blend affordability with quality. I called InSinkErator and they confirmed the installation was 100% compatible regarding the fit. Because of this, I didn’t have to replace the latching bracket installed underneath the sink. The AC mains electrical connection wasn’t the exact same as my current InSinkErator, so I did had to adapt the two (which was not fully explained in the instructions). Depending on your electrical knowledge, you may have difficulty here. When in doubt, ask an expert. It’s been operating well for a few months now. We’ll see how long it stands up to the teenager dishwasher test (they aren’t always careful about what goes down the drain).

This is easy for my son to install. I previously purchased a disposer that was 1/2 horse power. It lasted about 9 months. I am really happy with this product. I have never had to use the reset button. It is much quieter than the old one, but there is still some noise. A+ for functionality.
