Great aftermarket upgrade
The OEM plastic piece broke and left me stranded. You have to buy the complete hose to get another plastic piece. But replacing with this aluminum part saves time and money along with much better reliability. It fits tight enough to not worry about leaks but not so tight that it would be too hard getting into the right spot. I used it on an N55 engine and I’m ordering 2 more to replace on my N20 and N54 engines. I’ll surely be mentioning this in BMW forums to prevent anyone else from a tow home.

Perfect fit for e90 N55
Fit was perfect with no leaks and no major struggle to get it on, plus black always looks better. Tried another competitor with the same price and had to return because the o ring was too large, this one was perfect!

N52 BMW hose end adapter
Purchased this for my BMW with the N52 Inline 6cyl 3.0L. It fit snug like it should and fixed a oem flaw where hose end always eventually breaks and starts leaking.

Fit but o ring was to large
I didn't have to drill out the holes, but I did have to replace the o ring as the one that came with the part was too big and I could not fit it properly. Once I found a smaller o ring it fit and did not leak.

Buy this one. Forget the others.
It took about 30 minutes to remove the old plastic junk and install this fitting. The first thing I did was make sure the bolts slid easily into the holes on the new fitting. It seems there were some complaints about other versions indicating the necessity to drill the holes bigger. Not the case with this one. I cut the hose behind the OEM clamp, lubricated the o-ring, Installed the fitting into the block (it takes some effort), and clamped the hose to the fitting. Make sure the fitting is seated flush against the block, and make sure the hose is seated flush against the fitting.The only tools I needed were a 10 mm ratchet, a screwdriver, metal shears (to easily cut the OEM hose), Teflon/silicone lubricant, a magnet and an inspection mirror to see that the bottom of the fitting is fully seated.I chose silver to make sure I could clearly see what I was doing.After you install the new piece, run the car to see if coolant is pumping into the expansion tank, so you know the water pump is working. Top up the coolant, and you are on your way.
