Use these to run two ethernet ports over one cable
There is a lot of confusion about splitters. Some splitters allow you to plug two Ethernet devices into one port, these are NOT that type of splitter. These allow you to run two ports down one cable. How can this be? - The CAT5 and Cat6 cable specs have eight wires in the cable but for 100Mbps (the most common type of Ethernet) only four wires are used. These adapters use the other four wires to run the other port. Some other splitters claim to do this but they don't. Be aware that a Gigabit port (1000Mbps) uses all eight wires so cannot use these adapters. These are ideal if your cable is already terminated in a socket at each end but in my case it was terminated with plugs. If the manufacturers are reading this, how about producing another version that has one socket and two plugs? I would gladly pay double the price for that.

Disappointed in this product
Disappointed in this product no instructions on how to use these properly did not work for what I need it to do

Where are those "Essential Instructions" ?
On the product page, we read this:* REMEMBER: Carefully read up on how to set these up successfully. . . but the devices were delivered without any instructions. The site also says:* Share your network port between two devicesand* REMEMBER: You need to use this in pairs hence the twin pack offer. . . but the only sense I can make of the product-page instructions is that you first split, then join, two cables. I can see how that can accommodate a broken wire in one CAT5 lead, but cannot see how that increases the number of ports. Those essential instructions would be very handy. But there's no 'Contact Seller' option on my Amazon Orders page, nor is there any contact available through the WoD storefront.I shall revise my rating and these comments if WoD can help me use their product -- and if it works.More soon ...

Splitter
Well packed delivery on time would reccomend would deal again, however must say that the splitters did not work how I needed to use them due to single signal from network, should have looked at using dual port ethernet home plug, still you live and learn.WR.

Great does the trick

Works with Aastra
They worked fine on the old Aastra phone system. Not for splitting an actutal network, you need a switch/hub for that.

Does exactly what it says on the tin
Perfect for my needs, these adapters allowed me to run two Ethernet connections down one CAT5 line, and split them back out at the other end. There was no configuration required on any of the devices - you just plug them in and off you go!
