Swerve Sweetener Powder, Confectioners, 12 oz

I have tried a lot of sugar substitutes and this one really stands out. The texture is soft and powdery just like real powdered sugar and it mixes very smoothly into frosting and desserts. The ingredient list is simple with only erythritol oligosaccharides and natural flavor which makes me feel better about using it. It tastes clean and sweet without any strange aftertaste and it does not affect my blood sugar. I also like that it has the kosher symbol with the U in a circle so it works for people who follow those dietary rules.

Great for low carb, keto.. or just trying to cut down on sugar intake.

I make keto friendly icing with this and it always turns out amazing. My friends and family can't believe that the icing is sugar free. I simply made it with butter and a little almond milk. Also added a little lemon for a zing.

Brown sugar flavor Swerve is all right. It is indeed easy to bake with, but for me cookies or cakes made with this are something different from ones made with sugar. Cookies with this swapped into it instead of brown sugar are not equally delicious. In some cases I didn't even enjoy eating them. On the other hand I've come up with some strategic uses for this to keep sugar levels moderate enough to not make me crash and fall asleep after eating it, which I've concluded is probably caused by blood sugar spiking. I don't believe this is necessarily health food either but I'm now in my late 40s and my metabolism really requires a little more thoughtful eating, especially in terms of limiting carbohydrates, which sugar substitutes are a strategy for. However, this product does have its uses, especially in contexts where something only needs to be lightly sweetened, where I'm making a sweet filling or topping of some kind which is merely an accent and not the main aspect, OR, especially, when used as a blend of real sugar and this non-caloric substitute. For instance, I was relatively more satisfied with this as a sweetener in fruit desserts that contained natural fruit sugar, versus cake or cookies that did not contain any real sugar or fruit. I did use a blend of real sugar and Swerve to bake some things in a lower-calorie version, and especially if they relied on other delicious flavors and ingredients rather than just being sugary that worked out. I've learned by trial and error what I do or do not want to try to use this in. It's very expensive so it would feel like a better value if, for instance, I could make chocolate chip cookies that I enjoyed. But that is not something I want to do with Swerve: if I crave chocolate chip cookies, which are so familiar, I crave what they are like with sugar, and I'd rather just forego chocolate chip cookies instead of making unsatisfying ones with Swerve (which is a fine decision, anyway). I still appreciate this product a way of making treats in a reduced-calorie version.

LOVE swerve confectioners! I am keto and missed sweets. I had tried EVERY sugar alternative there is and just cannot stand the taste if ANY of them. I thought when I found allulose I had found the holy grail of sugar substitute and left a very positive review for it after only using for 1 week. By week 2 after using it, it started messing up my digestion in a very very BAD way and I started having a bad chronic taste in my mouth that was so nasty, turned out it was the allulose. I stopped using allulose and my issues resolved. Not wanting to waste money again on a sugar substitute I refused to even try swerve. Figured I had tasted 100 others that swerve would be the same. One day when almost breaking down and eating regular sugar I decided to buy a bag to try rather than eating carbs. I have now been using swerve for several months, waiting to use it awhile before leaving my review. This stuff is awesome! I have no aftertaste at all or cooling affect. It is sweet and you cannot tell in anything I have cooked with, that it is not sugar. I only like the confectioners though as I find the granular too grainy for my preference and does not dissolve, but the confectioners works perfectly. I use the confectioners in everything. My entire family loves it. I wish I had not waited so long to try it. I use this for all of my keto cooking including fudge, hot chocolate, cookies, pies, cakes, everything that you would use regular sugar in and it works great. If you are looking for a sugar substitute I recommend swerve confectioners to try. Everyone tastes are different, but I am super sensitive taste wise and I do not have any aftertaste or bitterness. I also have issues with diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease and have had no issues with the swerve after months of using it like all others. I am diabetic and it does not raise my blood sugar either. I do feel it is very expensive for what you get, especially when using as much ad I do, but most healthier alternatives unfortunately are.

The 48 ounce bag is big! I'm so excited to make some keto ice cream with this. Also for anyone who is on Keto this sweetner does not change your ketone levels. It doesn't effect blood sugar levels or raise insulin levels. This is the standard height of a paper towel roll for comparison. It's a big bag. If you're also looking for heavy whipping cream that is 100% 0 carbs, if you live near a Hy-Vee, they offer it! No more 1g carbs per tbsp.

Finally, I can make some icing and not feel like I am missing out being on keto. This confectioners sugar is a great substitute. It looks and feels exactly like regular icing sugar, although it doesn’t have that choky powdery taste to it. It taste more like regular sweetener. My keto cake turned out beautiful and you could not tell the difference that it wasn’t regular confection or sugar in it..
