One thing that was weird is that we made ice cubes at first with it and it gave them a strong chemical taste. I washed it thoroughly after that and it seemed to go away. These are very thick so you could easily use it for soaps or resin projects. The ice cubes are darling, but I also use them to make penguin mints and little cakes, which I decorate with royal frosting. If you are not accustomed to using silicon trays, they are very flexible, so you will want to put a tray under them wen moving the filled trays to the freezer or oven.
