Not for a crossbow
Would be super easy and fast on a compound but do not use on a 200 lb pull crossbow. The steel pins literally bent 30 degrees. Very lucky it didn’t fail before unhooked.

Complete junk - do not buy - main bolts already bent after 1st use
This is a bow "press" using a ratchet. It's made in China so I wasn't expecting a whole lot. Well, first use, the pin bolts used to hold the ratchet bent on both sides when using it 1st time. There is no way to let this bow off safely. The ratchet strap has no let-off under pressure and will "snap off" dangerously when trying to release the bow. The piece also can start to lean one way or other side so you have to let off and start over.Do not buy this china junk. Bad concept for a bow press. Unsafe.

Good for basic and maintenance
Works better than the Gen 1 Bow medic and easy to put on and take off for maintenance.

Good enough for the occasional maintenance.
This press isn't the best solution available but it is a lot cheaper than other options that work better. I had to take the limb dampeners off of my limbs to attach the press. It's a bit awkward to get everything attached and lined up before you start tightening the press but I mounted the bow in a padded bench vise to hold it steady while using the press and that helped.Working slowly (i.e. one "click" at a time on the ratchet) I was able to take enough tension off of my string to remove and replace it. You could also use this press to release enough tension to easily insert a peep in the string. You have to be super careful releasing tension because the ratchet will free-spool if you move it all the way to the release position allowing the limbs to "snap" back in to position. Another reviewer suggested releasing the tension by unscrewing the turnbuckle and that seems to be the safest way to go about it.If I were doing maintenance on a lot of bows this would not be my first choice. However, given the price, this is a good addition to the home shop for occasional string changes the like.

Doesn't work for Mathews Bows!
WARNING! This does not work on Mathews Bows! Also, there are no instructions on how to use these. Plus, the strap is too big for the pulley. WCS Archery needs to go back to the design table and make some serious changes to this Ratchet Bow Press. In the meantime, I strongly suggest anyone thinking about buying these needs to not only read the comments, which I wish I had, but save their money and purchase a Bow Master Cable and Pulley system.

Functional
This compound bow press is easy to store out of the way, but is functional for the occasional string change or other maintenance you can DIY. It is certainly less costly than a full size press and takes up a lot less space...these are the best parts. It isn't too hard to use, but requires care to make sure you don't do something dangerous as the limbs of your bow are under a lot of tension that needs to be held firmly with the press to safely perform any maintenance, and be released carefully as well. But, for the price I think it will pay for itself in a year or two and prevent you from having to take your bow in to a shop and pay big bucks for your maintenance!
