Finally a Docking Station That Works Brilliantly With USB C Devices
I purchased one of these this Satechi Dual USB C Docking Stations with some trepidation on 11 August 2025. However, as I couldn't find anything else anywhere that would allow me to dock my new Samsung laptop (with only two USB C and one HDMI connection), with my two HDMI monitors, I took the gamble and purchased. I have used it now for just under one year, allowing plenty of time for the device to prove itself. I couldn't be happier. It does everything as described very well and has not given me one single moment of trouble. If like me you are hesitant in taking the plunge, I highly recommend this docking station to anyone who needs to connect a bunch of modern devices together with USB C and HDMI. It looks complicated to set up but I simply followed the instructions, and it all worked as described. The twin USB C plugs on the docking station connect to the corresponding double USB C plugs on the laptop, and the monitor HDMI plugs connect to the back of the docking station. Switch it all on and your monitors light up. Image quality is excellent. It's just a matter then of allocating your preferred priority to your monitors. I have my laptop monitor turned off and just use the two larger connected monitors. Power to the laptop comes in via another USB C port on the left end of the docking station, and from there via one or both of the twin USB C connectors plugged into the laptop. Somehow it all just works and is very impressive. The rear edge of the laptop just sits neatly on top of the docking station keeping everything tidy and compact. Two photos are attached that hopefully clarify the setup.

Works well in a great form factor.
I like the form factor and the integrated dive port. I set mine as the Time Machine backup on my Mac. Plug in the dock, enter the password for the HD, and the laptop is backing up. I love the diversity of ports, though honestly, I could use one more USB-A. The one thing I can't figure is why it doesn't charge the laptop through the USB-C ports. But I just connect the MagSafe charger and be done with it.

Best USB Hub I've ever owned!
I just love this hub and I'm really happy I found it! When I turn the computer off, everything that I had connected to it also turns off. I don't have to worry about unplugging everything, every time. I saw some reviews saying that it didn't work with multiple monitors, but I think that is related to the processor you have on your macbook. Mine is a M2 Pro and I could connect two more monitors, having 3 different working screens. The NVME slot is perfect because I can not only save one USB outlet, but also I don't have to carry an external drive around. I had no problem with heat so far, no connectivity issues at all. A little pricey, yeah, but totally worth it!

Check your Corporate IT policies.
When it works it’s great. I purchased this do k primarily to stream line my peripheral connections. Unfortunately, the dock was unreliable when using two 27” 4k monitors through the dock, and resulted in me having to plug one monitor directly into the laptop (HP). COMPANY POLICIES: Due to the onboard memory feature, some company IT policies that prohibit flash drive connections may not recognize the software even if you don’t install it. I now have a docking station that I can only use as an expensive brick to lift up my laptop. Lost two days of work trying to work around issue. Freezes out all peripherals and wont restore without hard shutdown and restart.

Died after 4 months, but good support service
The unit died after 4 months. It just stopped working out of a sudden and got very hot; all devices disconnected and the led behind went off. I contacted suport and gave them all the details. I was then offered a replacement unit, which is on its way now. I like the unit itself as it just works out of the box with my MacBook M3 Max — no need drivers, just plug and go. The NVMe slot can handle 8Tb with no issue. I was using it with two external displays, a 24" 4k and a 27" 4k. All ports were used, so perhaps that's the reason the the unit died — or perhaps only an issue with the one I had...

Winner, winner, chicken dinner
This does what I want it to do. mbp 14 m3 pro 18/512 Objective Have 1 point of contact for laptop, other than power cord, for all devices. One disconnect when we go mobile. 100% achieved with this reasonably-priced unit. Extend to two other screens; an old Dell fpd2009 (HDMI to DVI) and a newer 32" LG (HDMI to HDMI). LG is shared between work computer, gaming Wintel and mbp. RJ45 connect. 2 external drives: one a usb C and other an A. Wired keyboard (A or C; currently A), Jelly Comb trackball (wireless A), fan. 2 generic dongles: 4*A, other has 3*A and 1 C, SD, HDMI. This has been hooked up for an hour; if something fails, I most certainly will return to this review.

Highly recommend - but has one important nuance...
I absolutely love this hub/docking station. It plugs up to my 2019 Macbook Pro flawlessly. I think Satechi did well in their overall design but a couple of nuances cost this review a star...which may be important to [some] home recording folks out there. Those nuances are: 1.) Know ahead of time that is device does NOT provide pass-thru power to any USB port except the PD one that feeds directly into your MBP. So if you're thinking all of the USB-C ports provide power to attached devices, it doesn't. Just your MBP. Additionally, this device supports 75 watts of PD to your MBP - but if you dig a little deeper, the factory wall plug for 2019 MBP's is 90+ watts. Yes, it charges/keeps your laptop up, but if you sit down to do some intensive CPU work with the battery already low - it's gonna struggle to get you back to 100% until you let the MBP 'come up for air' so to speak. Not really an issue, but then again it is. ---> MIDI peripherals - If you have a USB-C powered device like an Arturia Mk3 MIDI controller that draws it's power from the USB-C plug, then you have to go strait to your MBP, NOT thru the Satechi hub. This was kinda my pinch point with this device.<--- The onboard NvME slot in this hub is certainly a nice feature to have, and well worth it. Super fast, and accommodates Apple's Time Machine functionality well. :) Hat tip to Satechi for this one. :) The device overall is built extremely well, and the MBP doesn't 'slide off' when you're typing. It stays put. The MBP also doesn't heat up more than normal so this device actually helps cool your working system. Would I recommend this to others? Yes - just know the limitations going into it if you're expecting this hub to charge anything you subsequently plug into it aside from your Mac.

It works.. until it doesn't
I've amended my review, as with other reviewers on here, this product works until it doesn't. It has a nice form factor and design, but it's unreliable and has defects. . After a month or so, for whatever reason, this product just starts losing connectivity with the keyboard and mouse. The Monitor works okay and stays connected, but every couple days now we have to undock it, restart the Macbook (M4, new, bought in December 24), and then reconnect it. My wife just leaves her MBpro docked for almost all the time, so having to do this every couple days is annoying. . I contacted Satechi's tech support, and they gave me recommendations on setting adjustments, like not letting drives sleep, all that. But it still just continues to lose connectivity. . So I asked for a refund, of course, Satechi says they have a strict 30 day return policy. Now I know why. To me this product should not be sold, as this seems to be a common problem. I do not recommend this product, there's other choices out there and if the vendor is only going to stand by their product for 30 days, for a basically non wearable item that doesn't move, then that tells you why you should not buy it. I'll also be recommending to Amazon that they disallow this product to be sold, it doesn't seem right that it can be offered if it has known defects.

Najdroższa podstawka pod kompa ever
Kupiono 12 kwietnia 2025 oddano 09 lipca 2025. Wystarczyły niespełna 3 m-ce by sprzęt przestał działać.

Perfect dock
If you want a dual usb-c dock for your mac this is it. Works with both air and pro. All the ports you need and the facility to install an nvme m.2 inside the dock is great. Need a usb-c power supply but the mac air works with it. Very pleased with this.
