All Darn Tough socks are made well. I’m pretty sensitive to wool and these don’t itch. I’m not sure I buy the idea these are “cool” in summer. Noticed my feet a little warmer in these than I’d like, but not uncomfortably so and not enough to switch them out. They do wick moisture and keep feet dry, which is great and makes for a good sock if you’re doing a lot of hiking or walking. Have not tested these socks in cold weather, but do have similar ones from same manufacturer and no complaints there. I took one star off because these are close to ankle socks on me rather than no show … they ride high up to the ankle and are very visible when I wear my On Cloud shoes, which are admittedly lower cut than most low top sneakers. There is so much extra material above the top of the shoe that it genuinely looks like a quarter crew style, and I downsized the sock size to minimize that look (I’m on the edge of two sizes). For perspective, I could see these working well with a trail runner or low top hiker which are usually higher cut low top sneaker style shoes. Would wear these more if they were lower cut and probably should have returned them, although that’s just because of personal preference. I’d recommend getting one pair and trying them first before doing what I did and ordering 4 pair right before a long trip. None of that should dissuade folks from the quality of these socks. Darn Tough is about as good an athletic sock as you’ll find, and these feel the same way. One last tip: I usually was in cold water and hang dry because they are wool. Don’t think either is actually required, but does keep the socks working their best.

Have other socks from this brand, which i love, but these have been disappointing because they are thin and not that comfortable but still expensive.
