A 98inch tv that punches well above its weight!
This tv really does pack a punch! I upgraded from an old 55' Philips tv that I paid not far off what I paid for this 98' beast. Perhaps not the fairest of comparisons but this tv is a night and day difference to my old one. My concerns on buying this tv was that it might not be bright enough but that worry was instantly squased once I had it set up and working. I honestly can't see why you would need it any brighter. HDR is great with this tv so you dont need to worry, of course that is based on the source you're watching but all the usual streaming sites such as netflix and prime look great. Dolby vision is where it really comes alive! It looks stunning and i find myself watching all the David Attenborough shows i can feast my eyes on in dolby vision! WOW! Gaming is on a hole different level with this tv if you're that way inclined. My god it's unbelievably good and the immersion is unmatched. What i will say though is that all the AI processing it comes with and motion smoothness abilities are useless. I spent hours with the settings until I realised the reason it wasn't looking great was due to these settings. They are useless and make the viewing experience sub par. This isn't a top end tv and I'm sure on the much higher models they will be able to utilise these features to their full potential but not with this tv. The built in speakers are OK, not great but they'll do the job. I've gone all out and invested in a top end Q acoustics home theatre system with dolby atmos ceiling speakers. You need a good sound system to match with a big 98' tv! It's genuinely like having your own cinema in your living room. I have a permanent grin on my face while watching movies with the family! If you're in the market for a really big tv, just do it! I originally bought an 85' but returned it as once I had it set up I knew I should have gone for the 98'. Im sitting 10 feet from the tv and its perfect! No regrets. Great purchase that makes me feel like a kid again! JUST DO IT!

Lot TV for the Money, well pleased
Bottom line is it's very good value. My previous TV was a 10 year old mid-range LG which wore out and developed a blue tinge so maybe any new TV would be an improvement. It arrived well packed, take note of the picture-instructions on the lid on how to remove without pressuring the screen, basically pull out holding the sides which I did from box laid flat on the floor. You can screw in the plastic feet supplied but the separation in 1.01m, wider than my table, so I got a VESA compliant 300mmx300 table stand. Checking for update, setting country etc took quite a long time and was straightforward apart from the QR code on the screen would not log me into Google so I reverted to the Manual option. It helps if you tick the option to see your password before typing as the virtual keyboard covers it. The controller is simple, press the Home button which gives you options to open the channels you tuned into and apps like Netflix. The sound is OK, and can change profiles for Voice, Music etc. My 10 year old LG Sound Bar plugged in via the Optical Output and worked straight away, though cannot be controlled with the TCL controlled only with the LG Soundbar Controller. The picture quality is very good for a TV of this price. Sampled some films, rugby and fast moving football and looks good. You can tune colour, movements etc and there is advice on web on what others find work, though that depends on room lighting, distance etc. I choose the 'Intelligent' option and if I feel could be better choose 'Sport' for football. The only thing I did change was to increase Black Point to bring out detail in the shadows The viewing angle seems good, screen is bright. Searching for TVs most reviews were complementary, though saw one where is said it takes 35 secs to switch on and some motion blurring. My TV takes 6 secs from Standby and see little blurring of a fast football if I look for it, better TVs will cost more. I understand this model is the same as C6K, and maybe some reviewers were looking at C6KS which TCL say is a bit lower grade. It has a satellite tuner for satellites, but Freesat channels do not have an EPG, so I am editing the long list into the few Favourites I watch. It's a lot of telly for the money, and enough for me. If you want better you'll pay mcuh more.

TCL did it again! Brilliant TV.
So far, so good. This is the second TCL TV that I have purchased in the 2 years, and again, I'm not disappointed with taking a punt on TCL. Moving away from the big name brands of TV's that I have had in the past such as Samsung & Sony can fill you with a bit of trepidation but there is simply nothing to worry about. IMAGE - As seems to be standard with TCL the settings the TV ships with (picture wise), do need a fair bit of tinkering. In my case I had to up the clarity of the image and take a little bit of the brightness out, but once you've done that it's crystal clear. Hands down, it's one of the best images I've seen (I've also got a 55" Samsung OLED - this competes with that!). I've had zero issues with colour banding, ghosting or other modern day TV maladies. SOUND - The sound is exceptional - I was looking at getting a Hisense soundbar to beef up the sound but it's simply not needed. Dialogue is crystal clear and the bass is just enough (you can adjust all this to your needs though, so if you want more bass just up it in the audio menu). The sound is punchy though. OS - I had read on other TCL TVs horror stories with the Google TV operating system (which TBF I had encountered on my old Sony Bravia), but again whatever processor TCL is using it's fast, no lag, no menu hanging. So 10/10 for functionality. TV and remote - all was shipped in a well packaged box, it arrived on time with no damage, everything feels well made, and once you've paired up the Bluetooth remote you are away to the races. I've even paired up the TV with my PS5/PS4 controller, making going through menus even faster. Aerial/Terrestrial TV - It offers these services, but who really uses them these days. The one fault I may lay at the feet of TCL - again, if you are watching terrestrial TV or older content, the way TCL TVs process this image is not ideal so you will get a very distorted image. Beyond that, this is a steal of a TV! I just wish I had waited till the Amazon Prime Day deals - £85 cheaper! Oh well. Buy this TV, you will not be disappointed with your purchase, this rivals the big boys.

Excellent value at this price-point.
SUMMARY This TCL 40" TV is based on the Amazon Fire Operating System. Streaming TV's assume that the user wishes to view some live TV programs using an antenna, but for the most part wishes to view TV programs over the Internet using "catch-up" and "on-demand" TV utilities. As I have been an Amazon Prime member for a few years, a Fire TV was a good option for me as I could make better use of my Prime membership. All live TV streaming services require an App and most of the Apps require that the user sets up an online account. However, there are many other streaming services that offer good content but do not require an online account. It should also be noted that streaming TV's do not usually provide a recording functionality for live TV. If you wish to record live TV on this TCL 40" Fire TV, then you will need a set top box with recording functionality. PRESENTATION The product is well-packaged and adequately protected against normal bumps during transit. There is a very brief user guide which provides a few unpacking graphics and a connection diagram. TCL do provide an online user guide which is also very brief but does provide a useful diagram of the Remote Control functions. WHAT's in the BOX...? You will find the following items in the box.... TCL 40" TV with power cord 2 x stands with fitting screws User Guide Remote Control and batteries INSTALLATION Unpacking. The product can be unpacked and installed by one person without too much effort. However, for the sake of safety, both for yourself and the TV, if you have someone available, then you may wish to use an assistant. Remember that the front of the TV is a thin sheet of glass and should be handled carefully. I recommend using either a bed or a table covered with a thick blanket for unpacking the TV. Location. In my setup the TV is located on a TV table, not attached to a wall. If you wish to attach the TV to a wall then please refer to the wall attachment fittings instructions. Remote. Open the battery compartment on the Remote and install the batteries. The Remote does not have an LED indicator light when you press a button. If you are uncertain as to whether the Remote is working then you can use the camera on your phone to confirm operation – point the remote at the phone camera and press the ON/OFF button, you should see a light in the phone camera. NOTE : If you intend to setup several online accounts then it is more convenient to do so using a mobile phone rather than the TV Remote. The phone and the TV need to be connected to the Internet using the same Router. The Fire TV app is available for download on most platforms. Stands. You will need a star-head screwdriver (sometimes called a Phillips screwdriver). The two stands need to be installed before the product can be used. These are attached to the TV, each using two screws. The TV has location holes and the stands have location studs, therefore there is only one correct way to install the stands. The front of the stands point slightly outwards and the rear of the stands slightly inwards. Be careful not to overtighten the screws. Connections. Once the stands are installed you can then move the TV to its location. Once located, attach the TV antenna. The TV can be connected to the Internet either by Wi-Fi or by Ethernet, if you wish to connect via Ethernet then insert the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port . Lastly, insert the mains plug into the wall socket and switch on the power. Switch on the TV using the "Home" button on the Remote and follow the onscreen prompts. PRACTICAL USE Internet Connection. Connection via Ethernet is simply a matter of inserting the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port. Connection via Wi-Fi is very easy. Make sure that you have the Router password available before initiating the Wi-Fi connection. Video Quality. The video quality on this TCL TV is excellent. The resolution on this TV is 1080p and is, in my opinion, the best quality 1080p that I have ever seen. I score the video quality 5-stars. Audio Quality. The audio quality is good. However, for the best audio experience, the sound does need to be selected for the type of video that you are viewing, for example, Clear Voice, Film, Music.... and so on. I score the audio quality 4-stars. Remote. The functioning of the remote is very reliable. However, it has a small form factor and it does require some adaptation, especially for a man's hands. The addition of Alexa is really useful. I score the Remote 4-stars. Mobile Phone Remote. This App is available on most platforms and is easy to install and setup and works seamlessly. Good to have. User Interface. Very good. The interface is intuitive, very easy to learn and a pleasure to navigate. It is difficult to find any negative comment. I score the user interface 5-stars. Alexa. Having an Alexa button on the Remote is a nice touch. When you are feeling lazy, Alexa is your best friend and it works extremely well. Live TV. With a good antenna, picture quality is very good and live TV includes all 100+ Freeview channels. Apps. The Amazon store has all the Apps that a user could wish for. It is a good idea to go through the installed Apps and make sure that the installed Apps are the ones that you actually want. Streaming Services. In addition to Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Music there are numerous other streaming services available, such as, YouTube, Freevee, Pluto.... and many others. Spoilt for choice. Web Browser. Amazon have their own web browser, named "Silk". It is by far the best TV web browser that I have used. The name "Silk" is very good, because the browser is really "as smooth as silk". I score the web browser 5-stars. Bluetooth. Easy to setup. Works with my headphones. Excellent range. Connected Devices. I have a Freeview recorder connected via the HDMI 1 port. Works perfectly, no problems, easy to setup, really Plug-n-Play. Ports. USB. LAN. Antenna. Satellite. Audio Out. HDMI 1. HDMI 2. AV In. Headphones. Settings. There are 15 sub-menus under "Settings". It is worthwhile to set aside an hour and go through all the settings and try to understand how each setting affects the way in which you can setup the TV to meet your needs and expectations.

Extremely happy and impressed
I was searching Google for the best gaming TV's and the TCL C6K came up as the highly recommended budget option boasting its gaming capabilities and picture quality for movies, after some searching i found this TCL Q6C is exactly the same TV as the C6K with all the same design and components yet cheaper than the C6K on argos and currys at £499. I found the setting up straight forward and im very happy with the visuals on both gaming and movies infact ive been blown away with the picture quality and performance with both gaming and movies. The performance, quality and design are way above the standard i was expecting from a so called budget TV it looks amazing and several people have been shocked to hear just how affordable it is compared to the "quite frankly extortionate" prices for oleds/qled tv's out there. Sound wise its pretty good, again its better than you'd expect from a budget TV but i prefer to use my majority soundbar on any tv for deeper punchy bass but you won't be disappointed with the decent built in onkyo speakers, if you don't care about deep punchy bass especially when gaming and watching movies then you'll be very happy with the sound. I only use YouTube, Amazon Prime and Tubi apps they work great on this tv, it connects to WiFi without issues and was really easy to set up the WiFi connection, the controller is sleak and very responsive i really like the controller. Overall im over the moon with this TCL, like many I'd never heard of TCL till now i was a strictly LG all the way guy for TV's until now but i mainly purchased this tv for its gaming capabilities and it totally knocks your socks off on this regards, for the quality when watching movies its also knocks my socks off, so i highly recommend this TV especially for gaming plus you'll never be disappointed with picture quality with movies.

Product 8/10 BUT Service 1/10 at best
Feel free to buy this TV (details below), but use another vendor instead of Amazon. Summary for quick readers: - TV quality is excellent – bright, colourful, great size, and Google UI is fine. - Ordered two TVs with mounting; only one arrived and was installed as planned. - Second TV delivery failed, replacement was dropped off with no mounting. - Multiple escalation calls, promised call-backs never happened. - Mounting offered over two weeks later, unless I bought a new TV where slots were available sooner. - Good product – poor Amazon fulfilment/service experience. Consider buying elsewhere. Details I’ve set up one unit and the other is still unresolved for reasons explained below. The TV I have opened - 85 inches - is excellent and really fills the room. It’s very colourful, gets very bright, and the Google interface is surprisingly fine. I did need to tweak some dynamic settings like noise reduction, as they don’t work well for gaming or certain shows or sports. Overall it’s a solid piece of kit, and assuming the other one works as expected, the contrast with the service makes the experience even more disappointing. I ordered two TVs with mounting, given the size and fragility. One arrived on time on 29th Nov and was mounted. The second, scheduled for the same day, didn’t arrive. While they were mounting the first one, the tracking for the second changed to “undeliverable”. I called customer support, who initially told me to wait until 5th Dec - a full week - just for a resolution. I escalated and pushed for a replacement, which was confirmed for delivery on 1st Dec but arrived early on Sunday 30th instead. However, instead of mounting it, they just left it on my doorstep and left. I phoned support again and was told the services team would contact me within 24 hours. No contact. I called again, they escalated, and I waited 48 hours with still no response. I phoned again on the 3rd, and after chasing, the services team finally replied on the 4th offering the earliest mounting date as 15th Dec - completely unacceptable. Yet when I check Amazon with my postcode, they can mount a new TV on the 6th Dec if I purchase another unit. They claim the mounting service is handled by a dedicated team, which is why the delay is longer. I don’t believe that. It’s peak season, and I doubt the heavy/bulky services team is driving around with empty vans waiting to mount TVs. It feels more likely that new purchases take priority because they bring in new revenue. If you’re thinking of buying this from Amazon, let this be an example of how they may fail to honour commitments once they have your money and leave you stuck if there’s nothing extra for them to gain.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional TV – Premium Performance at a Great Price After spending some time with this TCL Q6C 65" Mini LED TV, I can confidently say it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The picture quality is stunning, with impressive brightness, deep blacks, vibrant colours and excellent contrast. Movies, sports and gaming all look fantastic. The 144Hz refresh rate delivers incredibly smooth motion, making fast-paced content and gaming feel responsive and immersive. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos add a true cinema-like experience, while the built-in Onkyo sound system performs far better than I expected from a television in this price range. Google TV is fast, intuitive and packed with useful features. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the overall design of the TV looks modern and premium. What impressed me most is the value for money. This TV competes with models that cost significantly more, yet delivers a viewing experience that feels truly high-end. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for outstanding picture quality, excellent gaming performance and premium features without paying flagship prices. TCL has done an amazing job with this model, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top budget Mini LED TV
For a budget premium mini LED TV, this is a great TV! It has high colour accuracy with good contrast and deep blacks thanks to local dimming (180 dimming zones). Decent brightness for day time watching too (with auto brightness available) and very low brightness too for night time watching. SDR content on this looks amazing! HDR content looks good too for a budget Mini LED TV thanks to those local dimming zones but it could do with more, 180 is few but is decent. Viewing angles are good. Sound is great. It comes with two built in subwoofers on the back and two down firing stereo speakers, more than you'd get on budget TV's. But I would still recommend dedicated external speakers because the sound is way better quality than any TV, you will notice the quality even if you buy used or cheap sound bar or speakers, they have better dynamic range, can produce sounds clearer and with better stereo sound. Android TV OS is fast and has plenty of useful apps including the ability to download third part apps such as Smart tube (YouTube with no ads). The TV has all the major HDR and Audio codecs so that's nice to have! My PS5 runs 120hz smoothly on this. Build quality is decent including the remote but I don't like the included stands, they're too far apart which means it may not fit your TV bench and may have to buy a Vesa stand (which is what I did) so the TV can fit smaller TV benches. It's a heavy TV but it's a big VA LCD panel so it's expected. I'm pleased it's has 4 top rated HDMI ports as well as many other ports including USB 3.0. I recommend it, unless you can get the higher tier models for the same or lower price.
