I ordered the wrong size thanks to a reviewer who said:"Beware that although it says 1" it is for 3/4" PVC. The outer diameter of a 3/4" PVC pipe is the 1" this device is for. It's a shame the packaging does not state this. Maybe experts know this, but probably not the home DIYer. I ordered the wrong size."The above statement is totally wrong. The 1" IPS (not sure what IPS stands for) is in fact for pipe that is Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) 1" which has an Outer Diameter (OD) of 1.315". If you want a coupling for 3/4" pipe (OD of 1.050", which is what I wanted) you have to order the 3/4" IPS size.The manufacturer can eliminate this confusion by stating in the description what size pipe (in NPS) the coupling is intended for. Without this information and with a vague designation like "IPS" the purchaser is forced to guess if that is the size of the pipe or of the fitting.My one-star rating is for the poor product description and not for the product itself which looks very good.

These things are expensive for what they are, but they are worth the money. Have you every dinged an irrigation line with your spade while digging? As long as that crack or cut is only an inch or two long, using this fix is WAY easier than cutting and splicing in a new section. It took me about two minutes to install, and I let it cure for another fifteen before I turned the water back on. No leaks. Love it, ordered another to keep on hand.

The Snap-Fix repair couplings enabled me to replace seven in-ground electric irrigation valves without having to dig up the entire cover and piping assembly for each. They were a major work saver. To ensure the correctly-sized coupling is being used, it's crucial to dry-fit the first one before priming and gluing. A large pair of water pump type pliers is necessary to achieve sufficient pressure to snap the two coupling halves together. Hand pressure alone is insufficient.

This worked really well for repairing a small crack in my sprinklers PVC pipe. However the DIYer needs to know that if you have a 1 inch circumference PVC pipe you need to buy the 3/4 IPS Snap Fix.Also, instead of squeezing the parts together with pliers, I was able to slide the pieces together into a locking position which made my project so much easier.

Was easy to install and clamp using needle-nose pliers, and seemed like it would work on a PVC sprinker pipe that I had punctured with an outdoor light post. However, even after using pumbers cement, the pipe still leaked when the sprinkler turned on. But at least it's no longer spraying 10 feet in the air.
