No Way Are These The Same Brightness Of A 36 Watt Halogen (650 lumens)
The world of trying to find LED replacements for incandescent or halogen bulbs is very challenging. I'm hoping some day there will be better standards in place so the consumer does not have to do trial and error to find LED bulbs that match the color (Kelvin) temperature and the brightness of the incandescent or halogen bulbs they are trying to replace. The web description of these bulbs and the description on the bulbs box says "650 lumens." A 40 watt incandescent light bulb is 450 lumens. A 60 watt incandescent is 800 lumens. These LEDs are as bright as a 100 watt light bulb, maybe brighter. Not close to 45-50 watts, which would be the equivalent at 650 lumens. It also referred to this as a "warm" light. No. It is not warm and I doubt it is 3000k.This is my third BAD LED buying experience on Amazon. The other two experiences from different vendors have gone along the same line. Grossly understated brightness equivalencies...If you want your back yard to look like Disneyland at night or you are planning on landing airplanes (to the chagrin of your neighbors on both counts), then these are for you. If you want soft, warm, outside landscape lighting that does not shout "Look at me" I'm a tree", then these are not for you, as they are certainly not for me. Just a bunch of wasted time and effort ordering, putting these in the PAR 36 base fixtures, taking them back out, and mailing them back to Amazon...Come on LED light companies and distributors. Get your act together and list real-world incandescent brightness comparisons. This shoddy "equivalency" listings gets old for the consumer. You can do better.

25% Failure Rate (So Far)
Good side: Warm spectrum, bright lights that are exactly form, fit, function for my PAR 36 halogen lights. Bad side: I ordered 16 of these. So far two have failed within two days of installation, and 2 more failed within two weeks of installation. Also, now that I am at the two-week point, I am noticing some of the silver is wearing away from the back of the two lights I am returning today.I use them as in-well landscape up-lights, with covers to protect them from rain. Recommend you order the 50W equivalent bulbs, as they seem equivalent in brightness to the original 35W halogen bulbs I replaced. (I was expecting this based on other reviews.)Very happy with Amazon return policy, and I have ordered VSTAR replacements for all failures, with the hope that some of the lights will work as advertised. Not very confident that any will reach "50,000 hours" as in the description, or even 10,000 - 15,000 hours as the standard for lower-grade LED lights.

Works great and bright on my boat radar arch
Works great and bright on my boat radar arch. They throw about the same warm light as the old halogen. So far, vibration, expose to salt weather have not brought on any issues. Perhaps 3+ month of usage is too short. Only time will tell if they will last. With 3 of these in the back of the boat, instead of drawing 150W and putting a load on the boat battery when the generator is off, I worry less as it is now only drawing 27W and running much cooler as well. I had a housing installation restriction where the bulb had to be fairly shallow. I tried LEDs from another manufacture and had to return them as they were too thick to fit. These from this seller had the right LED PAR36 with about the same thickness as the original factory halogen, fit perfectly as a aftermarket upgrade.

Updated 1/15/2018
I bought incandescents of these bulbs that burned out in three months. These have been great in my up light wells that are close to damp soil.Update 01/15/2018 The freezing weather has caused some of the older (>1year but less than 3 year old) VSTAR led bulbs to fail (low light/flicker). I estimate these bulbs fail after 6000-8000 hours. These LED Par36 last a little longer than incandescents but not enough to justify 3 or four times the price. I bought four of these bulbs in the past three years and two have failed. I am going back to incandescents. I have eight in-ground light well fixtures that use these. Some of the incandescents I installed actually lasted longer than these led.

Better then the original head lights
These lights are exactly like the original ones I took out. There very bright and you would never be able to tell the LED by looking at them. They are a yellow/sort white color just like the original bulbs. I love them. Very pleased with these lights. High recommend!

Great replacement for PAR 36 incandescant bulbs.
I bought 5 of these to replace burned out 25w incandescent bulbs. I'm using them in landscaping lighting in well lights. They all worked and look great. They are a little brighter and whiter than the 25w incandescents that they replaced. I just bought two more and am going to add new well lights where i didn't have any before.

Short life
These bulbs provide bright consistent and warm light. However, I have purchased 10 bulbs since 2017 that are programmed to be on for an average of approximately 9 hours a night. If we assume they were on 12 hours a night then the bulbs that I purchased in 2017 would only have about 8700 hours on then (15000 hours advertised). I have already had 4 burn out (I only purchased 2 in 2017) and some lasted as little as a month. I am going to seek replacement but have lost confidence in these bulbs.

Great Lamp, Plenty of Light
I initially purchased this item to just see how well it worked and check out the quality and quantity of light it produced. I had another 36w tungsten bulb in my Malibu low voltage light string that lit up the front of my house. The VStar lamp was very good and exceeded my expectation. So 6 months later I ordered another lamp to replace the tungsten 36w bulb. With these 2 lamps in my string, it reduced the wattage on the string dramatically which made my transformer run cooler. Since I live in Phoenix Arizona and the transformer lives in my garage which sometimes reaches 140F, anything I can do to lower the temp of the transformer is great. I have now been using the first VStar lamp for over 6 months and it is still going strong. I use it over 8 hours each night. I would highly recommend these VStar 9W lamps as replacements for the tungsten Malibu lamps.
