Soft and comfortable. I use just on one foot because I was experiencing pain on the ball of the foot and pain radiated to the second toe. That pain has now disappeared within a couple of weeks of use. I use with pointed part of cushion toward the heal so that thicker is just below ball of foot. I use with a sock over the sleeve and have no problem with it staying in place. I wear a women’s size 7 and this product works perfectly without squeezing my foot. Highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great overall *by T***E on February 25, 2018* This don't look like much, but they have helped my foot pain quite a bit. I like that they're clear, travel with your foot (as oppose to inserts that you'd have to move to different shoes) and are very comfortable. I would recommend the small to most people unless you have pretty large feet. I have a size 9 women's and the large was definitely too big; the small fit much better. My only issue is that it can be a bit tricky to get a sock on without the support rolling a bit, but it's not a big deal.
