I like this better than the plastic ones because they are: 1. a bit easier to install, 2. definately softer on your hands 3. If you only have a couple cords this will roll up a bit for smaller footprint, and you can add more cords later with ease. 4. Good quality if you melt the ends after cutting to prevent fraying. FRAYING : Check for video reviews of the type wraps. I found one that demonstrated how to melt the ends BEFORE choosing a size and vendor and making my order. I emphasize this because the leftover piece I had was fraying just from being moved around with nothing in it. Some reviews complain how quickly they fall apart. Yes they will if not melted. It is a loose open weave fabric. I think perhaps they did not read enough, or research product enough. SIZE : Others complain of size but they come in a variety of sizes. I ordered 1/2 " and I have 3 phone cords in mine. There is plenty of room which just rolls up with about a double overlap. The length does not tangle up due to size and weight of the bundle. VISIBILTY : My cords are far more visible with this product which when stretched across the room helps me to avoid tripping ! ( think poor eyesight ) Hope this helps. 😊
