I was concerned at first that they might be too thin and prone to tearing, but yet they have be subjected to some rough handling and have not let me down. I have been using these to help me avoid getting chilled from sleeping on an air mattress without any insulation other than the bottom of my sleeping back. Putting such a blanket around my air mattress and then adding a cotton cover to keep this blanket in place actually works well with overall light weight and low bulk.
