Rajah Caribbean Hot Curry Powder 100g

One of my favourite spice blends, as hot as a madras but you can still taste all of the flavour of your other ingredients. I use this in all sorts of recipes from vegtable curries to roasted nuts and spiced fish tacos to bbq chicken. It's one of my store cupboard staples. I much prefer this brands product to other caribbean curry powders available.

It was good quality and value and very tasty

Unable to find this in my local shops so ordered it from Amazon. It is the only curry powder I like as it has such a good flavour and spiciness. So was happy to have found it (although it was more expensive to buy this way but worth it). It arrived quickly.

Great for Mutton Curry! Struggle to get this where I live now

I love creamy Carribean prawn curry from a local Caribbean restaurant but it's very expensive. So I looked for it's recipe which called for Carribean curry powder. I found Rajah's curry powder on Amazon and thought to give it a try! And wow! Just wow! I have replicated the exact same taste as that expensive restaurant's curry, in my own kitchen! Thoroughly recommend. I season the prawns with 2 tbsp of Rajah's Carribean curry powder, green sauce, salt to taste and pepper to taste. Then heat a splash of oil in a saucepan and add onions, garlic and scotch bonnet. Cook and stir ingredients for a few minutes. Then add bell peppers to the saucepan and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add 2 tbsp of curry powder and stir while cooking on medium heat for 1 minute. Then pour double cream into the saucepan, add thyme, salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil then cook on low\medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Then add the seasoned shrimps to the saucepan, stir well and cook for 7-10 mins / until done and curry is thickened. And then eat it with boiled rice / pilau rice. Makes a quick and delicious dinner!

I haven’t used it yet , however I am disappointed in the use by date . Most dates are at least a year .
