Great action. Don't over think it. Just enjoy the movie.
Great action move. Like most action films, just don't over think it. Enjoy the movie. Yes they found the bad guys by tracking a cell phone that ended up being in an underground "dead zone." Just go with it. lol. Asking for great action AND a cerebral thriller is wishful thinking. At least they didn't shake the camera until I puked like the Borne series. Nice to be able to see who was getting hit for once! for that alone they get 5 stars from me. Another plus from me is that I didn't feel like they were checking off the typical action-film-sequence of "guy is a nobody (ok . . . they kind of did this) , then guy ends up being some sort of black book bad ass and someone reads off their resume in a top secret clearance scene, then guy fights some bad guys and kicks butt, guy meets the boss-bad-guy, guy narrowly misses the boss, guy gets injured and has a sex scene with the girl for some unknown reason, CAR CHASE with lots of public damage and somehow no innocents are run down, fight with the boss and he gets away, and finally the final fight where the bad guy is force to submit to capture or killed. This movie doesn't really follow that script.SPOILERS but justification to my earlier points: He's not black ops. He doesn't screw the girl. He only meets the boss once and they have a fight where he kills they guy, but that isn't the final victory. There's no car chase (there is a car "follow" but no one shakes the camera and no alley markets suffered their boxes of chickens to be smashed by the front bumper of the fleeing bad guys). Just lots of guns, fights, and decisive action. Kind of refreshing.

It's a Bourne world
Face it. Everything film like this is going to be measured against the Bourne movies. It's just the way it is. And although it's not terrible, it's definitely not Bourne material. Here are some issues.1) We're to believe, that in a period of 18 months, this guy recovered from multiple gunshot wounds, learned to speak Arabic fluently, became a ninja badass, an intelligent expert and infiltrated a terrorist cell. All with no official training. Not bad. (Slight spoiler -- you know something bad is going to happen in a movie like this when everyone is a little too happy in the beginning. Never ends well.)2) He's not Bourne. Jason Bourne seemed like that, if you hit him in the face, you'd hurt your hand. His head looked like granite. He looked like a tough guy. This guy looks like he's gotten the crap beat out of him the entire movie. (but at least he's not John Krasinski) Kudos for his power of recovery though. Little Joe Cartwright has nothing on this dude. Speaking of which, the finale fight scene is cribbed straight from a 007 flick. There's two old-timey references for you. No spoilers here though. When Bourne ran, you knew, he knew, where he was going. Everything with purpose. And don''t get in his way! The guy in this movie runs like he just stole some cigarettes from a 7-11.3) Michael Keaton is way more interesting than the main guy.4) Fight scenes cribbed from Bourne.5) Story starts with a quasi-interesting premise and quickly devolves.6) Michael Keaton is the best thing this movie has going. But it's not all bad. Great scenery (thank you Bourne). It's a spy movie. John Krasinski's not in it, and finally, and maybe most importantly, there's an awesome Alfa Romeo 8c at the end,
