Warm Audio - WA-47 Large Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone, Microphone (9-way switchable polar pattern, mic, ‘47 sound)

The look and advertising hype of it being a U47 style mic is the carrot dangle to hook you. Reality is, the look is the only thing like a U47. It has a warmth like any tube mic, but cheap parts and poor quality control make this mic an expensive lucky dip. Tube failure is high, circuit failure is probable. If your lucky enough to get one that lasts longer than a few months then it's a ticking clock to failure that will be outside warranty.There are far more reliable, better quality mics out there that do the same job.My advice would be to save yourself a headache or anxiety and buy a better brand.

I have two mics by Warm. This one I found to be very husky and dark for my voice and really anything else I put thru it. My suggestion and solve, replace the tube that came with it with a vintage tube like a telefunken. That changed the game and after spending a little time and research on other tubes, I landed a vintage telefunken and it became a favorite mic. I would have purchased just the wa251 mic had it been available a few years ago but i'm glad I have both. For my guitars and for live bass and vocals I swap between the two or use the two mics in tandem often. I have received lots of complementary remarks from tracks recorded with the 47. Do your research and good luck.

Agressive sound. Isn’t so easy to work it. Isn’t affordable to some people (like me)..

The mic came in not working, everything powers on, well the blue power supply led light up, but no sound coming out. Changed to a tube i knew worked in my other mic, still did not work.I returned it.Bought the same mic from another seller (Not Amazon) this one was working and sound good (very little use yet)But the wooden box was badly cracked. Contacted manufacturer, said they will send me a another box in may, when they are back in stocks.Overall good, but simply cannot give better rating for the failure rate, 2 on 2.To be fair the replacement mic sound very good, good balance without top end hype that i have from my other 200$ and 600$ mics. I cannot compare to a Neuman U47 obviously, but up to now it satisfy my expectations for the price.

The media could not be loaded.  The capsule was completely detached from the mic in the head basket. Not sure how this item even got shipped. Brutal

+ The best microphone I ever had; this mic has brought my recordings to the next level. I highly recommend it.- The power plug could plug into the power supply a bit more securely; but once you see how to put it in it stays.
