Q: What does 'single' mean as option 3 of the 3 choices?

When I bought the single , Im happy to say it came with the Flex cable

Q: Ive only had this lock 3 months now it doesn't lock or unlock, ive just managed to unlock my bike after an hour of trying. How do i get a replacement

Try graphite spray its what should be used for locks not regular wd40 if not found there are specific dry sprays for locks( there also is a special wd40 version for locks) . Failing any thing else use a wooden pencil(the lead is graphite)to rub on the key i learned from a lock smith

its very short but as thick as a normal u lock

I'd guess you've been sent the wrong one. The new-u version has the C shaped scoops at the ends of the shackle and they are visible coming through the orange crossbar if they're not then you have the older silver rated version.
