This has been a game changer. I've been approached by several paddlers all commenting on how good this unit seems to be. I'll tell others to try and lift the kayak with one hand and they are always surprised at how easy it makes the process. Especially useful at the end of a session when I'm a little tired.The only criticisms I have is that the two rubber strips have now come off and have disappeared onto a road somewhere. The double sided tape holding them on is not strong enough and I'm going to have to find a replacement solution for the strips now that they have been lost. The other thing is that I don't totally trust the locking mechanism. I think if I were to hit a pothole, I wonder if the unit would become unclipped and would slide open. To get around this I either lash the kayak strap around the main frame and the sliding frame or do the same thing with a bungie.Overall though, would definitely recommend.

Very well packaged product with good instructions and easy assembly. Very well manufactured. Used twice now and what a different it has made to loading my heavy kayak. I’d tried various other methods and equipment but this is really very good. Yes you can only load one kayak but if I was going to load more I would have purchased two of these or a trailer. In all very good price for a quality product.

It does work I have a 32kg sea fishing kayak which it lifts quite easily with a bit of arm power too. I had to take a loan out on this lift because at £400 it ain’t cheap. I take the top section off if I’m not using the kayak because 3 reasons 1) wind noise 2) security3) preservation. I’ve got some silicon spray to coat the moving parts. My roof rack cross bars said they would hold 100kg, this is the bit that holds lift frame but when I fitted everything with the kayak one of roof bars was bending. So spec from roof bar company wasn’t accurate so had to fit 1 metre x 30mm x10 mm Ali bar to roof bar. Using T bolts in roof bar slot.The frame assembly was relatively simple but if manufacturers could have done this for customer and put it into a larger box would’ve been helpful.

Good sturdy product at a reasonable price. Easily fitted to my T Slot roof bars. Makes lifting the heavy Canadian Conor onto the roof of my Forester a lot easier. I can do it by myself now too 👍
