This works beautifully. Our kitchen countertop was very old and was completely refreshed with this product! It gave us a very nice kitchen upgrade. My suggestions would be take your time and may want to design the marbling on paper first. But we are very happy with our new countertop! It looks so clean and so far has been very durable! Worth it!

Needed a cheap way to upgrade my counter tops. This was very easy to do - you have to take your time with the gray lines and use a dry brush to get the look you want. Would recommend this and would use it again

I bought this product to try on an old bar cart I picked up on marketplace. It was in rough condition— dirty, yellowed, and stained. I was able to clean up the wood, but the faux marble top stained beyond redemption. I didn’t want to spend a fortune for such a small project, so this kit fit the bill. The instructions were clear, and a few videos online helped with learning the marbling technique. Looking at real marble really helps to learn how the lines usually run and how there are usually subtle darker areas. Use an artist brush to lay out lines in very small sections at a time, keep a spray bottle on hand to mist the lines, and stipple/lightly brush to feather the lines and blend them. I took my time going over the surface the first time blending the lines pretty well, and then I did another pass darkening a few lines to add depth. The top coat was easy to apply and dried quickly. My only complaint about the look of the top coat is that even using the recommended roller the finish has a bumpy “orange peel” look instead of a smooth surface like real stone or even polyurethane. I can’t speak to the durability because it hasn’t been long enough, and this little project will never get the rough use of a kitchen or bathroom countertop. (But I’ll update my review if durability becomes an issue.) As for ease of application, I’d say it’s a good product. I only wish the finish was smooth

i'll start with the good things. it's easy to put on - it's just paint. it comes with a heavy duty cleaner that you use before you paint, which is nice. i didn't notice much odor at all. it dries quickly. perhaps too quickly - there's barely any time to soften the edges of the veining before the grey dries and sticks to the brush. the color is a good, pure white. neutral thing is that it doesn't come with the tools. no brushes, rollers, sandpaper, or wipes for the cleaner. you'll need to have those separately. now the bad. in small print on the box, it says this isn't to be used as a food prep surface. i assumed that just meant you're not supposed to be preparing food on the bare counter; but it ended up being more accurate than i thought. first of all, it never turned out smooth. if there's a weird texture spot you have to sand it down and start over because all the paint will come up when you sand. i redid multiple spots and ultimately used up all the paint and clear topcoat doing that, and it's still a very bumpy, uneven surface. i actually went to art school a long time ago, so i'm pretty confident in my painting abilities lol. the topcoat is satin, not glossy like a normal counter. this means there's some texture to it at its smoothest, which can trap small amounts of dust or whatever. seemed an odd choice for a kitchen counter that's supposed to mimic marble. it also yellowed slightly over the course of about a month. but the biggest problem is the durability. setting or moving heavy things on it damages it immediately. heavy items leave dents in the surface after awhile and if you slide something across, like when i put the microwave back and slid it back against the wall, there will be dark skid marks left in the surface that won't come up. i would have to sand it and redo it. so i think that "not to be used as a food preparation surface" note is a fitting warning. this is not to be used as a countertop lmao. it doesn't look good, doesn't feel good, isn't designed to be food safe, and can't handle having objects placed on it. it could be a fun project for a side table or something, but i would not use this again for a countertop.

A very affordable counter upgrade. So far its durable and our kitchen looks much better! That being said if your not artsy, you will definitely want to practice a bit.

Loved this product but I am going to do an epoxy topcoat since the topcoat included doesn't give a thick topcoat feel that I am wanting. The white base coat works well, I did three coats and it dries fast. I will give my advice to others that had a hard time veining because that are not artistic (like me); use a feather! I used a little craft feather from my daughter's art kit - just dip the top portion of the feather in the paint and just lightly brush the counter, I did sporadic line motions, rolling it a little bit and it came out perfect. I love that the cleaner takes off the gray veining paint without ruining the white base coat, I def needed to use the cleaner a few times before I got the hang of it.

I had high hopes. This went on pretty easily and I love the way it looks however, it chipped after a week. We waited the whole 7 days for it to cure before putting anything hard on it but it got a scratch as soon as we started using it. So far it's only one small area and it still looks nice overall.

we used the rustoleum marble countertop kit. we knew it would be a challenge and thought well, we'll try it anyways... after carefully reading the directions and following the directions though, we were at first, not happy at all. we figured you had to be a real artist to pull it off. so, I began to paint over the dark gray veining paint... I started at one end of the counter and painted over every line, knowing it would take several coats to cover our 'marbling'... and when I finished covering every line and turned and looked: IT WAS LIKE MAGIC! the thin coat of step one, white paint, faded the lines just enough to make them look authentic!! why don't the directions tell us to do that? omg, anyways, we love it and you can't beat the price! thank you, rustoleum!

It goes yellow over time. The top coat not hard enough I drop a saucepan lid on it and put a nick in bench. Paint is good .

The base coat worked amazing but the top coat was hard and unusable. I had already applied the base coats and veining but was unable to apply the top coat rendering my countertop unusable at the moment.

Followed all the steps and it still failed to stick to benchtop despite leaving it for 7 days and using multiple coats. Would not recommend
