Wasabi Power Battery for Leica BP-DC12 and Leica V-Lux 4, V-Lux, Typ 114, Leica Q, Q-P

Purchased them for my Leica V-LUXU 5. They work fine.

Have had this for 6-7 months and it works well enough. Does not hold as long a charge as original OEM battery, I would say around 25% less charge. But it's a good value for the price, nice to have that second battery available when you need it.I don't use my camera often so these batteries are often stored for a month or so at a time. To keep the battery lasting the longest, try to store Li-ion batteries between 40-70% charged. If you store them discharged or fully charged, expect to only get a year or two before you have to replace it. On the other hand they will last many years if properly stored. This is true of any battery with lithium ion chemistry.

The Wasabi batteries are a great way to save money. They work well basically the equivalent to the camera company batteries. I have used them in my Leica, my Canon 5D, and Canon / Nikon pocket cameras. They are great. They may auto discharge a wee bit faster than the name brand but not by much.

The battery fits perfectly in original Leica charger and also fits in my camera for which I purchased it.

They work fine in my Lumix 1000 for about `1/10th the price.

This battery worked OK for a couple of weeks. Now won't hold a charge. Big waste of money.

I bought the battery because it was sooo much cheaper than the Leica Battery. I am concerned though because the Leica Manual says this: It has been found that counterfeit batteries that look similar to the genuine product are made available for purchase in some markets. some of these batteries are not adequately protected with internal protection to meet the requirements of appropriate safety standards. Please be advised that Leica Camera AG is not liable for any accident or failure occurring as a result of use of a counterfeit battery. To ensure that safe products are being used, we urgently recommend to use only the Leica battery BP-DC12. I believe they were referring to counterfeit "Leica Batteries". I put the Wasabi battery in my camera and it appeared to work fine. I am concerned because the specs are different from the Leica battery. I would see what other people have to say about long term use of a battery other than a genuine Leica battery.
