Nice and quiet, excellent with a Wemo plug to automate
I have this setup in my garage. This unit is replacing two worn out Malibu transformers. The Lightkiwi is almost silent in operation with only a faint hum when on. A huge improvement over the constant plastic gear noise from the Malibu mechanical timers. The stainless housing looks great and is secure when mounted to the wall. The unit does not get hot when in use. I chose to not use a photo cell and instead added a Wemo smart plug to use with my HomeKit automation. The Wemo plug was slightly to large to fit in the available outlet inside the Lightkiwi unit (not enough door clearance) so I used a very short flat plug extension cord to connect the Wemo which was then tucked up inside. This setup worked well. Since the DIN rail connecters allow one wire per terminal to connect, I have my multiple low voltage wires going to a couple of bus bars and then just two conductors going to the Lightkiwi (one to the comm and the other to the 12v). Very happy with this unit and glad to be finally rid of lousy mechanical timers and able to control landscape lighting with home automation.

As nice as the Hinckley at a reasonable price.
This is a really well-made well put together multi-tap 300 W low voltage transformer. After using a number of transformers that were not manufactured to last more than a season or two, I decided to install ones that were gonna last a little bit longer, and committed to bearing the wires and doing a proper insulation with a multi-tab system. Lightkiwi has turned out to be a great brand, and their customer service email me back while I was at the hardware store with a question about the size of the sitting in the punch out the bottom so I could get the proper conduit size. It sorta sealed the deal for me they were serious about customer service as well as producing quality products, you do have to get individually either a timer light sensor you want to automate your landscape lights going on and off but the nine bucks for the light sensor is well worth it. instead of going through the hassle of mountings directly to the concrete exterior walls, I used a 2 x 4 which I painted with high-gloss enamel paint mounted on that and then attach the 2 x 4 with adhesive to the wall giving me the foot clearance you need off the ground and much easier than drilling into concrete with anchors. very pleased.

Lightkiwi Multi-Tap Low Voltage Landscape Transformer
Lightkiwi Multi-Tap Transformer is well made light gage stainless steel cabinet with secure latch. Hinge design makes door easily removable to make easy access to the termination screws. Bottom of cabinet is equipped with removable plastic plugs for routing wires to terminal block. Power measured at terminals were right at the voltage settings. I did not buy a unit with timer or dusk/dawn options as I have the unit plugged into a GFCI that is switch operated from inside the house. Works as specified.

Well built - NOTE THAT IT PUTS OUT AC
Nice unit, very well built. Note that it puts out 12-15V AC, not DC. This unit does not work with some of my LED lights because they require DC. None of the material provided indicates this...

Very capable and versatile
Had this installed for almost two years now. The surface is still shiny and looks almost brand new even though it is fully exposed to the weather and tree debris. The unit is very powerful and gives you a lot of options if you know what you are looking for. I have it powering 32 LED landscape lights at wire distances running from 6 to almost 400 feet. With that big of a difference you should know that you have to use different voltages and wire gauges to make sure all the lights have the same brightness. This unit has been perfect. It can accept multiple wires of different thicknesses and gives you options for multiple voltage outputs. I also have it plugged in to a wifi switch for control and scheduling. Haven't had a single problem and all my lights are nice and bright.

Great transformer. Solidly built.
Nice transformer in stainless steel housing. Easy to mount, has several voltage taps, 12-15 volt with quality lugs for wires. Does not come with any controls. If you want a photocell I recommend theirs, has the correct connector on it. Very easy to add a time clock if you want times control as well. I actually set the timer for 4:00pm on time and let the PC turn on based on light. I set the timer for 11:30 off time. Overall, nice transformer. Does what I needed for landscape lighting.

Great value, durable, works well
Durable, well-constructed outdoor transformer. The multiple voltage taps (12V,13V,14V,15V) are great for accommodating voltage drop over very long runs. I'm using this transformer to power 23 fixtures with 3W 12V LED bulbs and 14/2 direct burial stranded copper landscape wire. Using the multiple taps to support three different runs, the voltage at each fixture is measuring between 11.5V and 12.5V. The longest run is 150 ft with 11 fixtures. The voltage taps can accommodate more than one wire. For example, the common can support the conductors for all three runs. You can also use a wire nut to combine multiple wires in the box and use a single pigtail to the taps from the wire nut. This is an AC transformer, if you are using LED bulbs make sure they are designed for use with an AC power supply. Also purchased an Intermatic DT620 timer for use in the box to turn the lights on at dusk and turn off at midnight without using the optional photocell. The photocell can only support turning the lights on at dusk and turn off at dawn (didn't need the lights on for all those hours).

Same OEM stuff from SiteOne(Burnco)
It has been a cold half year using this, enduring -30 Celsius for several weeks in the winter. This thing looks exactly like the one sold in SiteOne for 1200 CAD. It must be a OEM product. It works very well and I am happy made the right decision.

Well built!
Looks to be well built and has substantial weight to it. Was easy to install. I am using it with a smart plug so didn't go with a timer or photocell. Works well so far.
