Pod 2 GPS + WiFi Pet Tracker & Activity Monitor

We have two bengals, one of whom (Hendrix) went missing earlier this year for nearly three weeks. As he'd got in a van and ended up 10 miles away, we knew we'd been very lucky to find him. On the basis we might not be so lucky next time, we looked into a gps tracker or I'd never have let them out again! The Pod Tracker has been a life saver. I can check on their location at any time and also see how active they've been so I know if I need to give these high energy cats extra playtime! Both cats took no notice when the Pods were attached to their collars and you get to know where they like to hangout and spend their days. The batteries wear out quicker if you use the safe zone or adventure modes, but they come with two batteries per Pod so you always have a spare.It's accuracy depends on cloud cover, and how much 'stuff' is around, but on a clear day it can be pin point accurate, and I know they are walking along a fence before I even look out of the window. Jagger is an expert at finding spots where it can't quite track him, but he always pops up eventually.I now know that if either of them go on an unexpected car or van journey from being too nosy, that I will have a starting point to find them.The customer support is absolutely excellent as well, the support team are very knowledgable about the product and respond quickly despite being on the other side of the world.I wouldn't be without a Pod Tracker now, it's peace of mind when I'm at work or elsewhere. Excellent product.

i was disappointed with this. its huge and heavy and my poor cat didnt like it. however i made him wear it for a few months. but of course if a cat goes missing, you cant pinpoint exactly where they are, and then the battery will go dead so you cant find the cat anyway. its all quite complicated. you need a bit of a degree to understand how to use it. it does let you see where your cat is though even if you are abroad, which is quite amazing. a main gripe is that once the collar attachment plastic ties you get with it have worn out, after a few months, there is literally no way of getting the plastic ties out of the tracker grooves (it was virtually impossible to get them through the grooves in the first place!) - the plastic ties break off inside the grooves and you just then cant get it out and the groove is now blocked forever. even my husband who is very strong could not pull the thing out. so it broke off inside. only one of the 2 grooves was now usable to attach the bullet to the cats collar. and they give you those cable ties, the plastic ridged ties as a back up, to attach it back on to the cat collar, so we could only used one of them instead of 2 to get it back on after a few months, but of course now the tracker hung down at a 45% angle, so the poor cat now had a heavy dangling thing which made it all much worse. good technology, but impractical and very annoying. after a year youre supposed to pay a monthly fee i think - so we just binned it. however customer service was very good, they do pick up, or answer emails and were very helpful with the many technical questions you will inevitably have! better for a dog i think, too big for a cat and all in all a bad experience.

Maybe in the USA they have WIFI hotspots absolutely everywhere AND / OR people with Bluetooth on every ten steps away from the next but in the UK, outside of a town/city, we dont, so it does not work as described. The pod, IF you have set it up correctly AND it does not untoggle itself, updates every five minutes. This is the shortest update time it offers, in which time, your dog could have run half way across the UK, so it hardly helps when trying to locate him. Since purchase in Oct 2016, I have had absolutely nothing but problems with this product and been onto the helpdesk DAILY trying to get it to work properly. then out of the blue, they upgrade it and when you write in again to say its not working, they tell you about the upgrade as though you should have known! Am I psychic? THEN the upgrade does not load and am without the tracker for three weeks over the Xmas period. During that time, my dog again runs off, meets an aggressive dog and gets attacked resulting in a hefty vet fee. I complain again. Suddenly, after having probably 'dealt with' by every one of the help team without any one of them checking the history of problems, I am allocated a chap I presume is the head of the team/similar. Suddenly the pod works. I continue with it but now.. its constantly reverting to being out of focus so if it does update the dog's location, I cannot see where he is because the screen reverts to out of focus every couple of minutes. DO NOT BUY. ABSOLUTELY ****** useless!

Good, but my cat lost it in some bushes and we could never find it in the last place it dinged before running out of battery. A very, very expensive loss and could easily happen to anyone.I'd only had it a couple of weeks and the company didn't do much to help me out on this one. After bugging them for a while they eventually offered me a generous half price off of a second one, which was extremely kind, but by then I was just mad to have spent so much on something that would end up lost forever that I didn't want to spend more money on the product, it might happen again after all.It's a shame there isn't an inbuilt feature that allows you to find a lost pod. It must happen reasonably regularly. Shame really.The product itself is reasonably sized, it fit on my small cat. Was kinda chunky on her, but I was using it to find out where she kept dissappearing to. Turns out she was travelling 1.5 miles away to an industrial estate to feast on baby rabbits round there.The pod obviously helped me find that much out, so it worked well, but an expensive piece of information indeed.The app is OK, could do with improvements, but they seem to update it regularly.
