qtxDP4 4-Channel DMX Dimmer Kit

Early days still, but these things are great for the price. Use them to replace the humongous 6 Channel dimmer racks. work out of the box, with chaser and DMX control built int, takes about 10 seconds to program the DMX address and you are away. Only negative, the channels are fused at 1.5 Amp, limiting output to ~360 Watts, upgrade to 2.5 Amp and you can hand a 500W lamp off each channel,

Replaced the same model of DMX dimmer pack that gave up the ghost after about 5 years of good operation. If the dimmer packs lasted longer, it would 5 stars.

Although the overall wattage rating was not exceeded, when the unit was first used, the unit caught on fire and emitted black fumes after 1/2 hour of use. Removing the cover clearly showed the seat of the fire was the fuse holder built in to the mains input socket. This had ignited, and charred the rest of the unit, melting the insulation on the internal wires. At this point the external earth leakage protection tripped. This unit maybe OK for small loads, but not for the rated 2400W.

Great little dimmer units. Don’t let the 2.5a fuses put you off.The dimmer can handle 10a total load. So you can change the individual channel fuses to a higher value as long as you don’t exceed the total load capacity. Which makes it quite versatile.

Bought this when I was just starting to get into DMX lighting control. It has worked flawlessly and now needing another.Delivery was good, so will be getting another here

I bought 2 of these to use for a show. One works great and is simple to set up.The other lasted for one show.If you do buy one of these it's a lottery as to how long the unit will last before it dies beyond repair. I have attempted to contact QTX directly about the issue but their email support doesn't work either!

Great little dimmers and fast delivery

had given this five stars but last week it spontaneously started smoking and then caught fire. Lights were all fully dimmed at the time. Caused huge inconvenience and cost. Nearly ended our project. Luckily we were nearby and alsohad a suitable fire extinguisher.
