When I opened the box & tested it, at first I thought the motion detector was defective because it didn't activate the LEDs. I called the vendor, left a voice message at night stating the detector was defective, and they called me promptly the next day. They explained the detector is designed to only turn on when it's in the dark (as in a safe) not in daylight or bright room lights. They were absolutely correct!
