There is no on/off switch on this handset. Nor is there a volume control. The write up and the box both indicate that they would be there.

Didn’t work as expected
I ordered this as an aid for my mother to use with her cellphone. It did not help her at all. I freely admit that mom is neither open to new ideas or any kind ( no matter how simple) of technology. I had no problem using it, but mom couldn’t get enough volume to hear properly. It was inexpensive, so no big loss.
