The pinnacle in baking salt
Diamond Crystal salt has long been the high standard for any serious cook. Along comes Diamond Crystal Baking Salt. Because of Diamond Crystal’s reputation, I ordered the baking salt the minute I saw it. It is now the only salt I use in my bakes. I use premium butter and premium flour in my bakes, so it only makes sense that I would use premium salt as well. Diamond Crystal is just that.

Perfect for bread
Perfect for bread making. I have a bread machine and this makes all the difference. My bread has been perfect with this salt.

This salt is new to me!
This salt is flaked which takes some getting used to. It does not easily come out of shaker - you have to firmly tap container first. It contains less sodium than regular table salt. I like cooking with it.

Save your money!
This is a horrible product, beware! The can looked rusty around both the top and bottom, so, no, I shouldn’t have opened it. However, I did, thinking surely the contents would be ok, but the lumpy salt smells & tastes rusty, too. The date for returning it is January 31, 2026, but when I tried that, I’m told it can’t be returned. Shame on Diamond Crystal and Amazon for sticking a loyal customer with such an awful product!

Great baking salt!
One of the best fine grain salts I have found for baking. I make sourdough and love this salt, mixes in beautifully. I do find the containers to have varying levels of rusting on the edge of the metal tin, but I don't think it affects the salt in any way. It does clump quite a bit as well, so I usually transfer it to an airtight container.
