Croydex Douglas 'Sit Tight' Double Fixed, No More Movement Mahogany Effect Toilet Seat with Anti-Bacterial Treated Surface and Brass Hinges

Pleasantly surprised. It is a very good quality for €30 thus far, two adults live in the house and this far has proved to be durable for last month. It was a bit of work to try and fit it but that could be down to previous fitting me had on it. Would recommend.

For years now I've found the quality of wooden loo seats from Homebase etc to be very poor. The hinge design on most is such that it is guaranteed to come loose, after which the seat moves about, the plastic feet press in the wrong places and either break up or fall off, and eventually the hinge itself falls apart. The wooden seats are also usually very light and sometimes crack (which by the way can be quite painful!).I recently had to replace one that had cracked, bought a replacement in Homebase, fitted it carefully - tightening everything very firmly - only to have the hinge come loose and fall apart 24 hours later. I went back to see if they had anything that looked better (in Mahogony to match other fittings in the bathroom) but they didn't. In desperation, while still standing in the loo-seat aisle in Homebase, I used my phone to see if anyone online sells better ones and found this on Amazon. The reviews were good so I thought I'd give it a try.So, overall it definitely is a cut above the others. In particular the seat and lid are made of much heavier wood (or more of it anyway) than the others. Everytime I lift it I'm taken by surprise at its weight. It's not a problem - quite the contrary it immediately gives an impression of superior quality. The little feet, which on many seats are hollow and made of slippery plastic, are on this made of some sort of solid rubbery material, which help glue the seat to the rim of the bowl so that it doesn't slide around in use. Being solid, I think they're unlikely to break up or fall off. Also there are five of them and they all happen to sit well around the rim.The hinge design is unfortunately no better than the others. Anyone with a feel for mechanical things - or who like me spent their childhood playing with Meccano - can immediately see the problem with this design. However, I think because the seat doesn't want to move around, the hinges have so far (about 10 days) remain tight and secure. Nevertheless, I've knocked one star off because of this. The better designs have a bar across between the hinges, which gives them much greater stability.How much can one say about a loo seat? It looks and works better than the others and is only about £4.00 more - worth every penny!

When we fitted our Twyfords Provencal suite we bought a "bog-standard!" mahogany seat. This did not fit so we had to order a VERY EXPENSIVE one (about £78) from the plumbers merchant, supposedly specially-made for the Provencal.It soon started to fall apart, the veneer came unstuck, the rubber washers perished, but we didn't want to spend a fortune again.I decided to take a chance on this one from Amazon, thinking that I could always return it on Amazon's excellent returns system.It arrived this morning & we were thrilled that it fits the Provencal perfectly, at a fraction of the price we paid before.If you have a Provencal suite, this fits perfectly. I purchased this Croydex toilet seat on 23 January 2017 and within the space of four months it has been completely obliterated.I should firstly point out that it is just me using it, I am female and weigh eight stone. It first started to come away from the pan after about two months. Because it would be fixed and come away again, I had to have it seen to several times by different plumbers, each time costing me £25. Then it developed a crack, again see photos. Finally, it came away from the pan completely only this time it cracked in half rendering it totally unusable. Again see photos.I did try to deal with the seller and get a refund however because the first fault developed after 30 days, the seller refused to do anything. Within the first two months, not only did the seat come away from the pan several times but the varnish started to wear away from the seat as well, again as you can see in the photos. I had the seat seen to again recently because this time not only did one side of the seat come away from the pan but the whole damn thing came off. Despite having had it repaired two weeks ago it started to come away yet AGAIN yesterday and today it simply cracked in half.I cannot believe that all this happened after only four months. I paid 30 quid for this toilet seat (PLUS another 100 quid all told for the various plumber call outs) thinking if it was a little more expensive than the average seat, it might be better quality. It just goes to show you do not always get what you pay for.UPDATE To be fair the company did send me a new toilet seat however guess what? After two months it started to move about again. This is even after fitting the seat with added components to ensure stability. At the end of the day I’m sorry but I will not recommend this toilet seat.

The seat looks great, easy to install and feels good on the old butt... Buuuuuuutttt.... The "brass" hinges /fixings tarnished really quickly and the metal coating has started to come off... Not terrible as you don't really see them that much.

Las bisagras se oxidan con el agua y productos de limpieza. Oxido verdoso, por el metal de la bisagra. Esto hace que se queden clavadas ambas piezas y te obligue a ir quitando el oxido con productos lubricantes u otro medio .Madera bien, bonita y aguanta . Me disgusta el tema de apertura. Al menos sirve para que no caiga de golpe , aunque no se haya diseñado a tal efecto

Si vous aimez ce qui est propre, ou tout au moins le parait, achetez autre chose, les traces de doigts de tous ceux qui ont touché cet abattant sont visibles...nul

indecisa nella scelta fra questa e un'altra in materiale plastico dipinta tronco di albero, non mi sono pentita di aver optato per questa. arrivata come al solito con amazon molto rapidamente, è facilissima da montare, pare resistente, chiaramente di ottima qualità ed elegante

Ein sehr schöner und massiver WC-Sitz in wirklich sehr guter Verarbeitung. Der Farbton passt bei mir dazu perfekt. Der Preis ist für diese Qualität angemessen.

Meine 20 Euro Billig Wc Schüssel hält mehr aus und war Stabil dranmontiert. Das Teil wackelt an den Schanieren und von Befestigung kann auch nicht die Reden sein, habe es zum schluss mit einer Zange versucht, den Wc Deckel fest zu bekommen... keine chance... sobald mann sich draufsetzt (80kg) verschiebt sich das Ding auch schon wieder und das nicht zu wenig. Bin echt Enttäuscht. Hab jetzt wieder mein alten Wc Sitz montiert und siehe da alles Fest. Nächster wird im Baumarkt gekauft. Lg
