Love this. The lid is a little tricky at first but it's very easy once you suss out how to use it. It's actually very well engineered and works perfectly. I wanted it mainly for hard-boiled eggs and it works a treat. I bought the 1.5 litre. The eggs took 10 minutes. 5 minutes to get up to temperature and 5 minutes to cook. The shells are so easy to peel after pressure cooking. So glad I bought this.

It is value for money and easy to clean. Yet the Hawkins sticker came out but it does not really matter as long as it is fit for purpose. Recommended!

I bought the Hawkins Classic Pressure Cooker (5 Litre) expecting a reliable kitchen essential, but it’s been nothing short of a disappointment—both in quality and after-sales support. ⚠️ Shine Completely Gone After First Wash Right out of the box, it looked fine—polished finish, compact design—but after just one dishwasher cycle, the outer coating lost all its shine. It now looks dull, patchy, and worn. Nowhere on the packaging or listing did it warn that it’s not dishwasher safe. For a “classic,” this is honestly poor design. ⚠️ Build Feels Flimsy The overall feel is lighter and flimsier than expected for a pressure cooker. The lid doesn’t sit as securely as it should, and after a few uses, the base seems slightly warped—especially when exposed to medium-high heat. ❌ Seller Support = Zero Help When I raised these issues with the seller, they refused responsibility and told me to contact the manufacturer directly. That’s not how this works—I paid the seller, not the manufacturer. This lack of accountability is incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. ❌ Final Verdict Poor materials, poor finish, and worse customer support. I would strongly advise others to avoid this model unless you want to spend time chasing down support and watching your cooker deteriorate after the first wash.

I love this pressure cooker. Good for boiling eggs or potatoes. Also useful for university students who live alone. Easy to clean. Good purchase.

Pros: It just works. Replacement parts are relatively easy to find Looks and feels quite durable Cons albeit very nitpicky: The large capacity pot is nice, but you need to be aware of the actual maximum level you can fill the pot as the lid goes into the pot in an unconventional way to store pressure. First time buyer should do a complete pressure test and descale the pot thoroughly as it will likely leave stain after the test. The lip of the pot makes if a bit harder to pour/completely empty the pot and due to its size, it can be very heavy for some.
