love fuzz , but i'd pass
this pedal claimed "true bypass" maybe , maybe not , had to return the first one . i had till the next day to return it to ups , i should have returned this one also . it distorts some kind of weird way , way too muddy and mixed it's not what i've heard on different channels , bad solider , who knows . better pass on this pedal i tried it by itself and in a chain , it" just not worth the trouble .

Wild, gated, insanity for experimenters and afficianados.
This is the famed Cuvave Fuzz, but with a new name - identical in every way other than that. However, there are variations in how this pedal sounds based on the components MVave use, which seem to change regardless of the name on the case. The specific pedal popularized on 60 Cycle Hum is definitely more gated than the fuzz I got. The sound is the same, but the micro resistors they used on this one don't cut the sound as quickly when you stop playing - it kind of fizzles out rather than cutting out dead. Regardless, this is still an insane fuzz face variant that is awesome, but it's not for everyone. It shines for single note playing - cuts better than my big muff, superfuzz, rams head, or French Toast octave fuzz. Its very very square wave (to my ears), and doesn't have the character and overtones of the aforementioned fuzzes. Plus, the compression attack is massive and the gating is spitty and unpredictable. Like all fuzz faces, the input signal makes a huge difference to how it sounds and gates, which is why would class this as an experimental fuzz, rather than recommend it as a useful one. If you are looking for your first fuzz, get a muff style pedal. If you have more than 4 fuzz pedals, you already know you need this.

Heavily gated
The fuzz has a decent tone, but it's heavily gated, no matter where you set any of the knobs. It does not want to sustain almost indefinitely. If you're looking for a smooth but heavily gated sound, this will work for you.
