No brainer for the price and for people with standard weight plates
I'm in the middle of building out my home gym. I would consider myself a seasoned lifter with about 20 years of experience (35 y.o. now) due to it being one of my interests as well as playing a ton of physical contact sports in H.S. I received about 300lbs of standard 1 inch plates from a friend for free due to them moving out of state so figured I'd build my home gym around them instead of spending more money to buy olympic plates. This open trap bar for the price and overall quality is a no brainer. I'm not a huge fan of barbells (history of injuries there and always seem to pinch something) so focus my workout around heavy dumbbells, bodyweight movements with weighted vest, and cables movements. However, I do love my deadlifts so wanted to invest in an open trap bar as it's much easier on the back (for me). I also prefer this over a closed hex bar because I also want to use it for lunges. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble with only an adjustable wrench and I'm not an expert with tools by any means. It's extremely sturdy and fortunately I had no issues during installation. I saw some other reviews where the trap bar is either angled weird or had fitment issues with the bolts. So far I've done deadlifts with two 45lb plates on each side and it worked fine. The 500lb or so weight capacity is more than enough for me and the highest I'd go is probably three 45lb plates on each side.My only gripes on this is the handle bars are well on the thick end which may cause fatigue in your grip faster. I bought some hand wraps to help with this. Also, you are stuck with a relatively wide grip. The low grips are around 25" apart and the high grips are well over 30" apart. I prefer a little bit more narrow as I'm 5'10 and especially like the open trap bars from other brands that have rotating handle grips but those are over $200.All in all, I'd recommend it based on my experience.

The 1 Inch Trap Bar That I've Been Looking For
The media could not be loaded. If you're like me and you've been looking for a trap bar that can accommodate 1 inch weight plates, then you know how difficult it can be to find one. There aren't many options to select from and the available options are usually close to $200. I was pleased to finally see an option that was half the price of the competitors and thankfully, it delivers in terms of quality and performance.I've tested out a few exercises and so far so good. It works as intended for Trap Bar Deadlifts, RDLs, Shrugs , Farmer's Walks. You can also do Lunges, Rows and Overhead Presses with it as well. You can technically put in a landmine attachment for landmine exercises but it's very awkward due to there only being one bar on the side so I wouldn't recommend that. Both the high and low handles on the bar feel comfortable to grip onto. No issues with the knurling. I haven't come close to hitting the maximum weight limit on this yet but I'll update my review if I encounter any issues.Loading the plates onto the bar is a breeze when you turn the bar upright. No issues with adding or removing the 1 inch plates as they slide on and off the bar fairly smoothly.PROS:- Sturdy and good quality.- Can hold a good amount of plates unlike other trap bars- Fairly easy to assemble. I very rarely put stuff together and have no idea what I'm doing and it took me about 30-40 minutes (Note - You'll need your own wrench for some of the bolts)- Flipping it upright makes it easy to load and unload the weights- When the bar is upright, the two stands actually have wheels and you can wheel it around for easy maneuvering- Comes with an adapter to use with 2 inch weight plates or to store in a bar holder with 2" holes.- Easy to store when not in useCONS:- The paint is starting to chip a bit on the part where you slide the plates on it.- When it arrived, the parts in the box were a bit messy and some bags had some dirt or debris in them. Be prepared to vacuum afterwards. If you're looking for a 1 inch trap bar, this is the one to get. I would only consider other 1 inch trap bar options on Amazon if you need a bar that has a higher weight capacity like the TDS brand on Amazon but that costs more than 2.5x this one.

Can hold standard or Olympic plates, it is surprisingly wide
I needed a trap bar that could handle standard plates so I could avoid buying a brand new set of plates. As such, this product saved me 100s. I use this product to perform sldls/rdls and cdls as well as rows. It has definitely served this purpose. I tend towards a high rep range, so the most I've loaded onto it is 200 lb of plates and it has shown no signs of bending/breaking.The bar itself weighs 30 lb. It is quite wide, especially when you use the outer handles, so if you are average size you may feel the tension on your elbows (my left elbow often pops/cracks when using, I am 5"11). It is fairly unlikely a female will be wide enough in the shoulders to enjoy this product. The open side weighs less than the closed side, so you will want to grip the handles closer to the closed side, especially when using little weight, as this amplifies the imbalance. The base has wheels, so the product is easy to transport/move even when loaded with weight.More details:The height of the product is not sufficient to perform Zercher squats from the ground by itself, so if you have that idea, it won't work without propping it up on plates or a platform. The product is pretty wide, so Zercher squats are kind of uncomfortable, but they honestly never feel good. The hole product is pretty much hollow, so if you tend towards the 1 - 3 rep range, you will probably bend or break the bar, I do sets of 15ish typically. The rows are decent but I wish there were a way to change the grip from neutral to pronated or supinated. They are super wide rows, so very little bicep engagement.Overall, great price for this product. Easy assembly. It works.
