I have visited a foie gras farm, and I know that foie gras is not inherently cruel. The ducks can be raised so that they are conditioned to eat one huge meal a day--because they are migratory, they are accustomed to eating beyond current needs to prepare for a long flight. The ducks actually get in line for their daily overfeeding. So I personally don't think that I am being inherently cruel by buying foie gras. I'd encourage anyone who thinks the practice is cruel to actually visit a foie gras farm, and to stop writing complaints if they refuse to actually look at the facts.OK, now on to the product. It arrived as promised, and is spectacular! In this package you are getting two pounds of foie gras, nicely portioned for you and cryopacked so that you can keep it, frozen, for a loooong time. I keep my freezer at zero, and two years is not out of line at all for cryopacked meat.The pieces in the package vary in size a little, but are nice-sized for a single portion. I seared them quickly then served each atop a four ounce filet mignon on a crouton, and used a truffle sauce for it. Classical Tournedos Rossini--and quite spectacular. I had a few left over and put them into the freezer.This is high quality product at a very attractive price. If you'd like to experience foie gras, this is a great way to do it. You can take out a piece or two and experiment, then later cook for that big important dinner.

Perfect. Shipped overnight, and seller even contacted us directly prior to shipping to make sure we understood what was already clearly outlined but may have been missed by a consumer... that a Friday order would not ship until Tuesday because it was a holiday weekend. Outstanding service and excellent product. Will use La Belle Farm in the future!

Outstanding restaurant-grade foie, nicely packaged - we order this a couple of times a year and never disappointed. Fantastic with a toasted bit of brioche.

Delicious foie gras, perfect size to serve as an appetizer, and they turn out soft and tasty. We prepared them by searing and then putting the butter with a little peach jam on top to make a light sauce and it was delicious

It's disappointing that Amazon continues to sell foie gras, which an undercover investigation revealed is produced by grabbing ducks by their delicate wings and necks and shoving metal pipes down their throats to force-feed them, ducks hyperventilating from their unnaturally large livers pressing against their lungs, and workers hastily shackling ducks upside down and slitting their throats while the birds were still fully conscious.Foie gras is so cruel it has been banned in more than a dozen countries, by leading chefs and grocers, and even on Amazon’s U.K. website. Why is Amazon allowing it to be sold in the U.S.?

Amazon take this off your website pleaae. I have a big problem with this. And most other people do too. These ducks and geese are force fed to get fat which makes their liver diseased with hepatic lipidosis. This makes them sick in the brain and body. Stop selling this. I love amazon, but this product is wrong of you to sell.

Force feeding ducks to make this is absolutely cruel. Please don't support this completely unnecessary cruelty. Animals don't deserve to be treated this way just so you can have a meal.
