Tripod Mount Ring for NIKON Nikkor AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8D IF ED Lens

I got this lens ring for my Nikon Coolpix P900 to balance the weight of the camera with the lens fully extended. I added half-inch velcro pile to the inside of the ring to tighten the fit as the ring is just a tad oversized for the P900. The ring now fits on the lens housing barrel nice and snug and when mounted to my tripod is balanced with no movement. Nice! For anyone with a Coolpix P900 or P950, and you want sharp long distance still shots, this ring is a must have. I have used this ring with my camera several times and my photos are way sharper than mounting the camera body on the tripod. Use of a heavy duty tripod and heavy duty head is also necessary.

I was looking for a ring mount after looking at the reviews from YouTube. This is exactly what I need for my Nikon P900. The seller did state that it may need some construction depending on your lens and type camera. I appreciate the honesty. I will use the smooth side of Velcro to put on the inside of the ring. Did was suggested to me by a fellow photography. This photographer has the same type product.

I saw others had purchased for Nikon P900 and needed to modify for a snug fit. Apparently the P950 is just slightly larger and I had to wiggle it into the ring; it was just snug enough for secure fit. Substantial item and would recommend.

Works perfectly with the added "soft side" velcro sticky strip I added, holds tight and looks good.

Using on a Nikon P900, it slowed down the zoom mechanism, coming close to breaking it

What a difference this makes mounting a camera with a broken tripod attachment!
