Brilliant product strong robust and the alarm is loud although some seem to think it isn’t, personal choice I think. Although a little fiddly to get access to the batteries once you have the knack it’s fine. Perhaps the only criticism I would give the disc lock would be to have a tool included so it was a little easier to remove the battery casing rather gently inserting two screwdrivers to prise the tangs out of the retaining slot. The security rating is 18 out of 20 so would take longer to get off than most. I will still give it 5 stars because of the overall product and it’s an Abus Granit one of the best in class and I’m really pleased with mine.

I think it's a great disc lock / alarm and would definitely be a full 5 stars if it were easier to lock without the alarm going off because of the position of the key being difficult right beside the rim or if it had about a 10 second delay instead of what seems about 2 seconds.

This thing is just great, works like a charm and the audible alarms is a perfect complement for a lock this good. The are two main reasons why I like a lock with a built in alarm system and they are: - It puts pressure on the person trying to steal your bike (either by cutting it or lifting it) - It reminds me that the disc lock is on so I dont end up driving away with the lock on, so if I forget and get on the bike, as soon as I move it it will go off. Another good thing about this lock is the size, it fits on the palm of your hand so it is small enough to fit in your pocket (not that I recommend riding with a lock in your pocket) or underneath the seat. Now the cons, the lock is not easy to fit, it will barely fit on my front disk (BMW K1300R) and it will not fit on my rear disc, and also, I cannot fit it with one hand (well I can sometimes but it takes several attempts so you are better off using 2). So I highly recommend this lock just make sure it fits on your bike before buying it, which I dont know how it can be done since I dont think there is a chart with a list of compatible bikes!

Easy to use, alarm sound is a little to quite. And sometimes getting it off the bike in time before the alarm goes off can bs a pain. But hay that's what is there for, also strong wind can set it off. Looks very well made.

Good looking lock and it definitely makes a loud sound. Only problem is that after 3 months it’s now almost impossible to open it first time. It jams and then the alarm goes off and it looks like I’m trying to nick my own bike - particularly bad if it’s early morning and I have to wake up the rest of the block of flats to get my bike out. Tried to upload a video but of course if it’s not locked round the bike then the alarm doesn’t set so its quite unimpressive...

well built bit of kit. does a good job so far. not so sure of the use of AA batteries. how long they last or indication on when to replace them. i do recommend this lock as it is much sturdier them most of the competition on the market even that it cost more than most that i saw at time of purchase.

I bought this lock to go on the rear wheel of a BMW S1000XR. It is difficult to fit and nearly impossible not to set off the alarm. This is because the key hole for the lock sits inside the rim and there is not enough room to withdraw the long key without it jamming up against the rim. The alarm is armed 2 seconds after the lock is closed - this is not enough time to remove the key and to rest the lock on the disc. Removing the lock without setting off the alarm seems impossible. I cut a bit off the key's plastic grip (see photo). Now the key just fits, but alarm still goes off. Not ideal. I have practiced lots of times under ideal conditions (warm fingers, no rain, good daylight) without much success. Putting the lock on the front disc and removing it is easier but still a tricky to remove with the alarm going off. Abus should increase the "alarm set" time from 2 seconds to around 5 seconds. Apart from that, the lock looks strong enough. The alarm may have some potential as a deterrent but it is not as noisy as the tools used by serious thieves - the club hammer or angle grinder. I would have been happy with an alarm-free version; just as strong but a bit smaller without the battery, electronics and siren compartment.

Pourquoi avoir mis la serrure en bout et pas du côté toujours problématique pour le verrouiller sur le disque de mon mbk nitro et pour greffer la chaîne abus quasiment impossible déçu 😞 de l ensemble pour le prix franchement j attendais beaucoup mieux

Don't get this if you have neighbors. It will go off often when you try to take it off, it's not easy to get the key in the hole correctly. Meanwhile the alarm goes off. You'll go through this every time you want to use it. It "arms" so quickly that it'll sometimes even go off when you put it on your bike, and it's not an easy fit. This thing will annoy you. It's only worth getting if you plan to park your bike outside for long periods of time. Not worth the hassle for daily usage.

Super heavy so don't get this if you don't want some weight in a smaller tank bag, but if you want an absolute monster lock this is for you.
