I love a cocktail before dinner. My metabolism isn’t that happy with alcohol, so I did some research and learned about shrubs! Ironically, even Whole Foods doesn’t know what they are, but I’m so happy to discover them. I bought two bottles in January, and as we only live here 6 months of the year, I just calculated that I enjoyed a few non-alcoholic cocktails a week for six months on these two bottles. They are a delight - it’s fruity, and yet not cloyingly sweet. It’s vinegary, and yet not such that you cringe as the acid hits your palate. Typically I add a splash to an 8-12 oz sparkling water from my soda stream. Sometimes I add a cherry or two from my Manhattan stash. I’m just so disappointed this time at the length of time to get a new order. I may have to try another brand, as it’s something I look forward to in the evening as my husband cooks our dinner. 😉

Will be getting more. Flavor is very delicious. Good ingredients. Highly recommend.

Well, it was interesting. I do really like strawberry and wanted to try it. I used one bottle but put the other in the kitchen at work with a take it if you want to try it note. Quite the vinegar taste and fizzy but not terrible for mixes.

If you like strawberry, you will probably love this. A bright & wonderful flavor. I have only had time to try this in plain soda, but, should be excellent in your handcrafted cocktail. I had previously ordered & tried the Asian Pear, which is also a brilliant product.

Great SodaStream flavoring, one note strawberry flavor, benefitted greatly w/the addition of lime zest and juice.

Soda stream: this is like sparkling vinegar…it is unbelievably bad.

This Strawberry Shrubs water/cocktail enhancer is seriously delicious. I was skeptical because it has vinegar in it, which is weird. But I like the fact that it uses real ingredients, and it's only 50 calories. Last night we decided to try it out as suggested, with a drink mix recipe on the bottle. It's 4 oz sparkling water, 2 oz vodka, 1 oz strawberry shrubs, and a mint sprig for garnish. We expected to have one drink to taste test, then switch to wine. But we loved this drink so much that we ditched the wine and had three each. The strawberry flavor comes through nicely, and there is a tiny bit of the tangy vinegar flavor, but it is so minimal that if I didn't know that this has vinegar in it, I would not be able to place the flavor profile. As others have said, it's not sweet, but it also comes across as a bit sweet because the strawberry is naturally sweet. We gave a sip to my dad, who does not drink alcohol, and my mother had to stop him from drinking the entire drink because he liked it and didn't realize that it even had alcohol in it. So in total we had 7 of these drinks (my Mom and I each had 3, and my husband had one), and it only used maybe 1/4 of the bottle. I am stunned that a drink with such a strong flavor profile uses so little mix. I wish I could better describe the flavor for anyone curious, because it is unique in a very good way. I originally thought that these were fairly expensive for getting two small bottles, but seeing how far a little bit goes, this is actually a really good value for making and enjoying cocktails that taste like they are crafted in an expensive bar or restaurant, and they are also low calorie! When I was looking at the company page, I noticed that there is a pear flavor, and I think I'm going to get that and give it a try because switching from wine to this easy to make and refreshing drink on Saturday night has me excited to see what other craft cocktails I can try.

I drink a lot of sparkling waters so I was especially eager to try these Shrubb's mixers ... but I was a bit disappointed with my first sip of this cocktail enhancer straight from the bottle ... what I expected and wanted was some strawberry and sweet to compliment my beverages ... but I'm afraid that the first flavor note from this is really just vinegar with a subtle hint of strawberry ... I guess I would have preferred the opposite of that ... I admittedly do have a sweet tooth ... and that's where my expectations were lying ... the ingredients seem great ... clean and simple ... but the vinegar is what rises to the top here ... I'm willing to see if this is an acquired taste ... and the two pack will help me do that ... but my first impression isn't giving me what a wanted ... sweet and strawberry ... what you get with this is vinegar and then some muted fruitiness and sweet ...
